I want to improve my baby celi's heart and improve the all-around performance yet I just bought a house and would like to improve the shop next to it first. So I figure I can still plan for it so when the day arrives that I can I'll be ready.

Before, in my fantasy, I wanted to swap my 5s-fe head with the 3s-ge head because I heard twin cams are better. Then later I wanted the beams motor. I didn't want the 3s-gte motor because I wanted to go naturally aspirated. But now I have no idea what to go for.

If i go with the 3s-ge head, I know it bolts up to the 5s-fe block yet the coolant holes don't completely line up.

The Beams head also sounds nice. And I'm sure the coolant hole don't line up completely and there would be more work involved because of the vvt-i.

Then there's the thought of where to go if I want forced induction. Would I want turbo or supercharched? What motor would I want it on? I know presure2 pulled out some nice numbers with the turbocharged 5s-fe. I could go that way or do the 3s-gte swap.

None of this is high on the priority list right now as I already stated above. I'm just looking for your thoughts and opinions. (yes, I have searched the forums and read about some of these changes, so I do know some things about them. I know what's fantasy and reality.)

I would like to know about gas mileage on some of them since, you know, gas prices are not too friendly now. And also would like to know some drag times if anyone has them.

Thanks for any thoughts and facts shared with this.

i would go

5sfte first

or if you have the money

3sge beams

from what i've read etc the 3s head swap is more of a waste of money you could just go 3s with a stroker for about the same money but the 3s be more reliable

but since i went the 7agte route 4ag head on a 7afe block which is a far easier swap you can always be different and go 5sge or 5sgte

5sge beams= beams top end with the 5sfe block and some 3s internals maybe a new crank etc

yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte

Before I thought it would be good to keep the aluminum block of the 5s-fe but I assume for turbocharging it it would be a good idea to get thicker sleeves inside. ( I dunno, i'm still learning.) At least I'm not trying to live in a fantasy.

Also there are more performance parts for the 3s-ge head. I figured that could be an advantage.

actually, the 5s block and crank are both pretty stout.
there are a few guys on the mr2 boards that are using 5s based stroker 3sgte's running over 400whp. smile.gif
