We are trying to figure out which number our cars are in the limited production of the 97 ST hatchback.

People with limited ST's post ur the four numbers after the letter V in ur vin.

The number for my celica engine is V0071893, and the manufacturing date on the driverside door was 02/07, so I would say that it would be an accurate guess to say the last for digits are what # your Celica was in the limited cycle. Dunno as for the # would have been seperate for the ST's and GT's, and I have no clue about the GT-4's as I don't know much about them. Check the sticker on the driverside door and look at the date if you are questioning the date your car was made.

Saw that before and didn't give a second thought as to whether or not that that No. on the door referred to the actual # its was on the assembly line. Mine also has AT200L on it and its No. 317 with it being manufactured on 02/97.

what is it in the VIN itself that tells you if its auto or manual? or is it just something that comes up in the Toyota computer system? cause I went to the dealer asking about some shifter parts and when I gave them my VIN they asked why I needed it with an auto

The actual serial #. (The last six of vin) should tell all options on each specific car.
I still haven't seen a limited made in 96, I am very curious about tomazws as his
# is between the 2 above. His should be in the first 100 made. Also unless some of these
went to other countries there were more than 3500 made. I would like to see some vins
from the aussy version to see if the are mixed in with ours. No one seems interested
in this, other than me and you. From a manufacturing standpoint all ST hatches should be
made in a series as well as other like types. From the verts I have seen, they seem to have
been made mid 96.

The last 6 are plant sequence 069769 = dec-96 070314 = 01-97 I don't know how
many per month exactly but with the numbers and dates I have, I can make a good guess.
Your is in between 2 others the same month so I said it matter of factly.
The three digits? I have no Idea.

The more #s we collect the closer we are to finding
out how many a month and narrowing it down further.

Awesome, the date should be 3-97 or 4-97. Jeff and I talked about starting
a database at one time, I have also purchased the dealer 97 ltd pamphlet.
If I can get my scanner to work I will post it.
