okay i fixed the idling yesterday and now when i start 1st gear, the gas pedal is stiff unless i step on it hard...what's wrong?...i can't seem to find what the problem is...it does this is 2nd 3rd and 4th gear (sometimes)...it's not soft anymore...damn...someone plz help....

The gas pedal or the clutch pedal? The gas pedal I haven't heard of, or it just not going into gear very welll

My cousins truck had a very stiff gas pedal but Ive never seen that in a car.

It doesn't make any since that it would act different in different gears. It's stiff, or it not. You can try squerting some WD40 on the cable. That would be it, and if it's acting stiff going down and it's the cable, then it should be getting stuck as well. Unless your catching on something in the throttle body or with the butterfly control.

it might be the throttle body... clean it out with like a q-tip or somethin cause when i first got mine it was doing the same thing and my dad cleaned the throttle body and it works fine

I kno what that is, I have that **** happening to my car right now. And this happened to my mom's 626. This happens when cars get old, the gas cable streches and all to fix that you need to tighten it up on the throttle body (that might mess up ur idling RPM, if it does you can just do the timing again.) it didnt change anything in my moms car when I did it. I am gonna do this same **** to my car sometime this week cuz its getting really stiff sometimes.

Yea it can happen in all gears but you can only feel it in the first gear because it just gets stuck when u dont press on the gas pedal for a while.

just pop the hood move the butterfly control with ur hand if it moves freely then look and see if the cable is snagged under the pedal in the car
