I might swap my '95 celica front clip to a curren front clip. Guy on celicatech i selling one, hes asking $1500.
Here is the link:(im devilsden97, do u think hes asking to much? And is it an easy swap?)

http://www.celicatech.com/forums/showthrea...8340#post128340

Check it out, tell me what u think (about the curren swap look, and the price)

Wouldnt mind someone telling me how hard the swap will be.

that would be a big change for the celica, but i like the celica because of the way it looks in the front - with the four head lights and all -that's what makes it unique -

agreed, but i also want it to stand out amoungst other celicas.

My other choice is to get a '99 Beams VVTi in Montreal for $3000 with LSD 5 speed tranny. but my parents are being haters and are like "y do u need that? your car only has 65000 miles." so ill see how each pans out. but i would like to know more about the curren conversion.

PLZ enlighten me on its difficulty, and the guys selling price.

I'd like to see a curren hatch so it sounds awesome

but you also have to remember that it doesnt bolt on there is welding involved cause you have to remove the old core support and weld on the new one.

for rarity of the item, i think its a damn good price. i think its less than a GT4 conversion, and a LOT more rare. ive only seen one curren hatchback combo here in the US (someone posted it a while ago... it was black i remember that). but unless you have experience with this stuff, dont try to do it yourself. the general rule of thumb for me is, if you have to ask a bunch of people on the internet if you can do it, then you cant.

I was thinking about doing it myself...but again then u run the chance of ****ing it up. Idk if anyone is in the wappingers/poughkeepsie area, but if u know Visions of Speed, i think i might take it there. there hourly rate is like $80. Id definatly have to check it out. (or at least look into it more, the install that is)

Then i would have to convince my 'rents to let me get it. They pay my enormously huge insurance bill every 6 months lol (it ends up being 4000 a year, again keep in mind im 18) So if anything goes on the car, they basically have to aprove it. Unfortunatly frown.gif Oh well. wish me luck...i might just do it even if they say no lol and then pay any difference on issurance. ( i dont think it will jack up the inssurence but u never know)

yes, any paint place can do it.. just send them your paint code which is located in your door jamb. it should be 3L2 for Super Red. i have the same paint on my car.

Do u think the original paint will be faded at all??? cuz i dont want i to look stupid. And how much do u think it will cost to get it painted after i have it put on?

everyone is saying this clip is so rare...i was just thinking...what if i by chance hit something???? im ****ed? can i take the Curren core off, then put the Stock 95 celica front back on??? or is the car totaled cuz of the core being welded on??(its only spot welds tho, so they can be broken...omg this changes alot)

My honest opinion is that the curren front end is dull looking. Even the few lips they have don't make them look any better. Its going to look like a boring camry. The celica with projectors is very beautiful looking and unique. I would put your money in the beams or a different body kit like the zapt or varis arising. Just my 2 cents.

actually, I believe it has been done before... I remember in my search for curren and celica information that someone had done it before, I believe in Florida, a couple years ago, but I have never seen pics...

That argument is invalid because you are trying to compare the price of something BRAND NEW (gt4 conversion) and something used (curren conversion).

Do what you want, it's your car man.

Back on topic, I would be too paranoid of ANYTHING touching it, driving at night (deer) and just about everything with something as hard to get as curren parts. All it takes is one little mishap and all your $1500 of fun is gone before you know it, most likely to never be replaced.

honestly, it seems like to much trouble...and i'd assume kinda risky b/c your messing with the frame of the car...plus, the curren front look like any other car imo. I'd say go beams, or projectors! Or both! biggrin.gif
