When I worked at my old job I built, modified, and maintained the companies' websites, built and fixed computers, solved software issues, wrote intranet applications, and built Access/VB programs from time to time. The best ever though would be when they'd send me on store runs to Office Depot. Nothing like getting paid to drive my car around. biggrin.gif

please try to imagine with me..

there is a big roll of plastic. We load it onto a machine and the plastic runs through and gets cut into bags. The machine places the bags on some hooks, and when its done I take them off the hook, put them on a wicket (shaped like this "[") and then put it in a box. Once the box is full I tape it closed. I do this until the pallet is full, then I ship it. I change the rolls of film, lable boxes, perform quality tests, ink tests while managing 2 of these machines both running around 200 Bags per minute. Sounds easy, but I assure you, most of the people here would quit after a day or two. Stressful. I might say maybe 50 words in the 8 hr period because there is no one to talk to. I sing to myself and I think about what I can buy for my Celi with the money I'm making.

Pay= 11.96/hr

I work at costco in the gas department, some things I do are:
-member assistance (people who don't know how to work a pump)
-maintenance (replace nozzles, hoses, etc....)
-paper work (we sell almost 30,000 gallons a day so we get a lot of loads of gas)
-drive and do competitive shops (I get paid about 43 cents a mile plus regular wage to drive around and check local gas prices, mostly arco's.)
-stand around and day dream... I do a lot of that

30% of my job is to answer phone calls for order processing (you know those paid programming TV ads? we take the orders)

60% is just sitting around. usually, i'll load up my PSP with anime (bleach, naruto... all the good stuff) and watch 'em. or i'll play NFS underground or play cell phone games.

the other 10% is used for paid breaks.

i hook up people's numbers to verizon dsl. i run the copper wires at the central office that normally go from the computer (line equipment) to another pair of pins on whats called a COSMIC frame. from there it runs out to ur house.

pretty much to sum it all up, i run wires back and forth and connect them to pins. i get most of it done in a couple of hours, take an hour lunch, play some psp, surf the web, and call it a day. smile.gif

$14/hour with a dollar increase every 6 months

I work with my dad, he's a real estate developer. We just closed on a house last week, and we're remodeling it to sell.
Here's some things I do:
Electrical
Roofing
Ripping up carpet and refinishing floors
Painting
Cleaning
Landscaping
Data Connections
And probably a million other things I forgot, lol.
I do more than heavy work though, I routinly go to Lowes, Home Depot and do a lot of shopping. Today I was supposed to meet with an electrician so he could relocate/upgrade the breaker box, but the DB never showed or called.

I make my own hours, although I usually have to work on weekends if we're doing a BIG project, Like now we're trying to get the roof done before winter. I'm still in HS, and I'm getting $8.50/hour, I get $4.25 cash, the other half goes towards school. Last weekend I made $115, so It's not a bad job

I work very part time at A&P since I'm a full time college student.

As far as what I do, I work in the bakery and its a really good gob actually. Very relaxed environment, you arent really waiting on people like in most food businesses. I make all kinds of baked stuff like cakes, pies, cannolis, and set up things to be made for the next day when I'm in the department. Otherwise, I'm elsewhere in the store giving the Managers help doing whatever they need....I'm in a pretty good position and allows me to do alot of different things. I drive to pick up things from time to time which is great, and I get to take lots of breaks and talk cars with people who work with me. My boss is great, he's from Brooklyn so hes got a thick NY accent and he's awesome....tells lots of stories and likes to pull alot of pranks with me.

Pay is also pretty good, they give you sunday and holiday pay and I usually put in overtime when I work, so that fattens up the paycheck nicely. I'm a Union member also, so I get quarterly raises and all sorts of benefits.

She may have been too young at the time when that skit was on. I think Natalie is only 20, and that skit was on like 15 years ago.

I am a Financial Analyst for Northrop Grumman Newport News, which is the sole builder for the nation's nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers for the Navy. I basically help manage budget performance on multi-million or billion dollar contracts and the Human Resources division's overhead budget, which is in the millions of $ too.

i sit at my desk and pretend to be working. rolleyes.gif

I'm a Legal Assistant, as of right now I work part time. 12-5

I bascially do a lot of secretary stuff because there is no one else to do it. So answering phones, making copies, typing up letters and all that, on occasion i'll make coffee if we have a closing or something.

When it comes to legal work I basically prepare all the documents that go to court.

When Feb. comes I will graduate and i'll be a certified Paralegal, basically at that point i do everything but go to court, which IMO is the fun part. wink.gif

and yeah i do most, if not all, of my work on the computer so i'm online all day biggrin.gif

I'm the senior graphic designer for a print shop... which means I'm the only one (but I get the title anyways). Basically I take all the crap that spews out of everyone's junky computers that they think will look good on paper, and I make it into masterpieces. I also take the retarded ideas everyone has that they think would look good on paper but are too stupid to do themselves on their crappy computers, and I make it into a masterpiece.

As a twisted bit of fate, this is my dream job. Just not the dream company. I would like to be the designer at the National Enquirer and get to make all those fun stories look real....errrr...slightly less fake? But I think I'll just start my own company and be satisfied.

at my job, i install wheel and tire packages on cars and ship them out to other companies and dealerships and i getta drive BMW's, Benz, Porches, and a lambo once biggrin.gif . Its great cuz we deal with the toronto area bmw owners club, benz owner club, Porche club of toronto, and Lambo enthuisusts of Toronto. Its kinda weird puttin winter tires on a porche carrera 4s, it boggles the mind to put a 11.5 inch wide rim on for snow tires. or workin on a BMW X5 and puttin 20" snow tires on :S. But yea..its not a bad job but i screwed up my back last week so im off for a week.

Dream Job:
Test driver for Top Secret, Signal Auto or being a D1GP/JGTC Driver..even though im the whitest kid ever i think it would b sick.
