The "official" national 6gc meet, The Tail of the Dragon Options

Jeff (defgeph) and I have been discussing a national meet for a few weeks and have decided to take the initiative to set one up. There have been a lot of good points made about potential meeting places which we have considered at length. This is NOT a thread to debate the location of this meet. That said, everyone is welcome and this meet should not discourage others from setting up other meets in places like Kansas or Colorado.

The details:

Meet will be May 5, 6 & 7. It will coincide with the exact same meet for the MR2 guys. We are piggy backing off their meet for one reason - more cool cars and people to hang out with.

Event will start in Charlottesville, Virginia, 10am.
Continue along the Blueridge Mountains, from Virginia into West Virginia heading for the Dragon.
Saturday will include driving the Dragon.
Sunday will include some of the most awesome roads in West Virginia, with huge drop-off and fast blind curves!

Please post if you will attend. There may be other people like me that will not drive that far unless there is a good turnout. If thats the case, just say so in your post. I would like to see at least 50 cars there (mr2s and celicas) for me to make the trip. Honestly, I don't think thats going to be a problem.

19 hours in one day is a heck of a drive. Maybe i'd drive a waze thursday night. so its not so far friday for me to drive. But then sunday afternoon i would probably drive half way back.

We will work something out with cell phones so that people can meet us at whatever point we are at.

As for the timing, we made a calculated decision that the overall turnout (and the real reason for anyone to drive so far) would be highest if we teamed up with the MR2 guys. I recognize that will leave some of you out and, for that, I apologize. The truth is that no matter what date we chose, there would be conflicts.

if you want celicav we can meet up in RIC and go 64 to the meeting spot

The where and what time info will be posted as the date gets closer. Also, we should probably exchange cell phone numbers to hook up if we don't make the initial meeting time and place. I would imagine that some people might have some reluctance to post their cell phone numbers here so if anyone has any good ideas on that one, let me know.
