Hey, I was reading over nik's how-to on the 7AFTE and was wondering what these are?
user posted image
if im not mistaken, i think theyre called check valves but i want to know what they do, what they connect to. anything you can tell me, id appreciate. thanks in advance. i searched for "check valves" and nothing came up. i got the name from one of doggy's posts about his old celi's turbo setup. o, and how do i get a hold of them?

its a mad ghetto way of trying to fool your map sensor so that its not confused by the positive pressure that a turbo adds. the check valve is just a valve tha opens one way. it lets the air bleed out but not get sucked in.

the correct way to do this, is to find a map sensor that can read the extra presure you have from adding a turbo.

i searched for a map that had the same signal plus but never found one now some of the corolla kits have the little black box but no company i called would let me just buy that so i used the check valves and yes its ghetto but it works but if you get the greddy emange with all the hook ups you just T in the pressure sensor and you can take the + pressure

nik, the 5s and 7a map sensors work exactly the same.
verifyed with the BGB..so "in theory" couldnt you guys also use the 2bar map like us 5s guys do?

You can also wire in a Zeiner diode on the map sensor signal, so that it won't read above 4 volts. Much cleaner than the check valves.

zener diodes aren't very good tweek..

i used it on my turbo jetta so i could boost past stock....

they create horrible spikes and surges and tend to run you lean

I've never used one myself, hazer00 (the guy who posted his '97 Corolla turbo) is using one and he loves it.

Hey guys, on eBay they're selling Missing Link knock-offs made by OBX. They're like $50. You can use the ones for Civics that have one inlet at each end...I am getting one before I go home so I can get rid of the fishtank check valves I got. =P
