LOL... well you saw the article in SS about the 200sx didnt you . weight is a big factor . I also will take everything else out of the car when I start going to the track . wont help much but it could be the difference between 15.3 and 14.9..

Sentra is US, 200sx is Japan. and yeah, as far as tips and tricks. learn how to shift quickly, and how to launch. as they say, practice makes perfect. |

I thought that the Sentra was four doors and the 200SX is two, and they're both available in the states.

I believe the 2l turbo is known as the 200sx in Japan, while the 1.8l n/a is called the Suny Lucino. In the US the B14 coupe was called the 200sx while the 4-door was called the Sentra. (I think) oh, and the new Sentra which is how this discussion got started is in fact called a Sentra for both the coupe and 4-door versions. |

Coomer, I think that you are correct. Also get a faster car, were not designed for the strip, but more for the track. Bryan |

A light fuel load helps alot, half a tank and below makes a big difference. Make sure u have anything you dont need out of your car too. If you do have a passenger then make them sit back as far as the seat goes for better weight distribution. If you look at the rally cars, the navigator sits really low and back.

Well, you guys are all dogging Celicas....when they CAN be fast as hell cars.
My tips...build up your Celi and don't dog it. Celi's, even stock, are fun to drive and can beat a lot of other bare bone stocks cars...I've taken plenty...raced about 50-60 times lost 6 times. 4of those were turboed or supercharged...and I haev an auto...do you guys know how to drive? If you really knew how to drive you could beat a lot of cars...I guess that's another tip....pick your battles wisely...don't go off tryin to race some souped up car that you know is fast....you will lose....but if you see some corn burner in a 95 grand am that says he beats you all of the time even tho u never have recollected racing him ever...then race him (yes personal experience can u tell?) Also...don't think you can beat a chick with a silver beetle with a bunch of nopi chick decals on it...oyu cant....wher ei live anywyas....she gotr a turbo beetle...she would kill you...(again from personal experience) So what have we learned today kids? 1) Build up your Celi before you go out race good cars. 2) Pick on slow domestics and use them as practice for your launches etc. 3) Don't race the girl with the Silver Beetle. -------------------- 95 Toyota Celica GT

Best technique I've seen yet. Of course, the person in front of the person u wanna race might think you're revving to them and have anice car...and just whomp on it and get wya out in front...and then the person that u wanted to race...that was behind someone at the light...now will beat you if they have a nice ride....that really would suck....no not from personal experience. oh another tip...If you get a light, no matter what race....even if it's like a gramma...some gramma beat me with her buick riviera supercharged...I was pretty amazed...she actually was trying cuz she was laughing at the next light. -------------------- 95 Toyota Celica GT
