basicly i cut away all the plastic jambbed the safc in the hole. guled it with plastic glue.
then covered it in fiber glass. let dry and sand to your hearts content.
basicly the same idea for the guages. get a peice of abs plastic. measure your holes.
but out the same size peive in the trim mock glue in. then fiber glass. sand. paint and your done.

DAMN IT, you are still a nOOb.... Whyt didnt ya covered your S-AFC with masking tape!!!!!!!!!! You are risking your toy!!! biggrin.gif

Another thing - did the same **** with the Center piece in my Ex celi... And, it always cracked when ever i was trying to pull the center piece out.. The problem its self is the plastic, what NO POLISTERIC resin wount glue to it... so just use EPOXYD resi, or dont do anything at all cuz all your work will be messed in the first removal.....

well, maybe I missed it, but what exactly did you change on the safc location, or should I say what is it that you are trying to do with it differently, than the last time.

Either way great job.....this is alot of help, because this is exactly what I had planned for myself when I get my turbo setup up and goin.

i was fixing it up. last time i used a cheap body filler this time im using glass. it had like a finger nail dent in it and then the paint chipped.

that's looks so bad ass!! How do you like that SAFC? Is it easy to use? Does it make a big difference? Is it worth buying if you dont have a turbo? Did I ask enough questions?? lol

Dang, that's some nice custom work. +1 what doGGy said, watch the expensive bits. I think I would have taken the case apart if possible. Can't wait to see what it will look like painted.

Well, i tryed sumthing tottally different than silver... i think it will work once its in the car.
i also plan on bronze rims so i figured why not. bronze is a new fad i guess anyways.
i used what doggy said and sprung for a textured pain to hide minor chips or crack that appear later on maybe?
so i figured this textured paint would be cool.
and its different tongue.gif

input. please

LOOKS GREAT MAN!!! biggrin.gif

i would have done it in black, but that's all personal opinion...

--also, i would have not done the textered look w/esp. the bronze b/c it looks alsmost "to good" . . . making it look kinda fakish . . . also, dunno if the mat black vents might look funny in contrast?

but all around, it rocks - - - very nice handy skillzzzz youza gotz therez...

~snap

p.s. don't take any of my comments negatively // it rocks, just puttin' in my opinion...

man i wish i had a digital camera to take some pics of my car. I did the exact same thing a few months ago with my dash and painted it charcoal black. It looks like it came from the factory that way. It has never cracked and given me any trouble and i always get complements on it. Except i modified the dash slightly so that my CD deck sits on the bottom and the gauges kinda sit on top of the deck. It greatly help to support them. I should do a write up and i highly suggest that others do this with their interiors and not just pillar pods.

Very, very nice. I like the textured paint. You just need a short shifter so you can see the screen better.
