i noticed that my trunk release dosnt work as well with the extra weight of the spoiler blocks. ill pop the trunk from inside the car, only to find it still locked, cause it couldnt pop up enough. i have to get out the key and turn it as i pull up the hatch with my other hand. is anyone else having the same problem? did they do anything different with the trunk release on a real gtfour?

I don't have the blocks but i have a bigger spoiler.. mine still pops fine but its harder to lift up and it will shut harder.. Not sure how mine will compare with the blocks but it sounds like you have a lock problem...

after a while of pondering almost the same thing, I realized the center of gravity back there is different because the spoiler is pointer more towards the front of the car, rather than more weight towards the rear. The blocks themselves don't weigh much al all.

my manual release still works fine, it might be a bit harder to pull, not sure. I did notice that my remote popper doesn't work like it used to though. I believe the 205s have stronger struts in the back.

my solution, new or stronger struts I guess...I don't know

hmm dont think the strits would fix it it. it goes up and stays up fine.... the problem seems to be with the latch. its as iff whatever spring is used to pop the trunk up, cant handle the weight of the spoiler. so it pops and that locks itself right away. i get out of the car and try to pull up on the trunk and its locked

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Maybe this release does not exist on an ST?

How do you open your fuel door to put gas in ? The lever is right next to it. I have a remote trunk popper added to my alarm. There is a how-to on how to install it in the sticky at the top of the forum.

yea, the st has a trunk release. i have factory 2 post spoiler with the led brake light and it weighs a bit and it wont pop enough and when i go back there, it's locked. but then again, i also have a crappy strut. so i need new struts because the trunk comes back down sometimes... not safe for ur head.

mine worked fine when i had the supra spoiler on and it sits higher and weighs more than the blocks..... now my hatch is really light without it

Yeah, I only have a gas door lever, nothing else. I will go and take a picture. I have no hatch pop inside.
