why is my 7afte not making enough power at the top? i just finished the break in period after rebuilding the engine. when I floored the accelerator the rpm raise quickly and accelerates fast but when it reach 5000 rpm it doesnt accelerate fast enough you can see the tachometer needle slowing upto 6000rpm and the car slows downs. it seems the car doesnt have top end power. what could be wrong with my car? Ive already change my exhaust pipe to 2.5 inches

what turbo are you using?

edit: not sure about on the 7afe specifically, but i know that on the 5sfe, the bad economical design of the fe head just does not make power up top. so if the 7afe is the same, then your problem is the actual design of the head.

2.5 coz I tought it because the stock exhaust was too small and theres a lot of back presure thats why its slow on high rpm. the engine came with the turbo when I bought the car although I dont know what type of turbo it is I think its a stock toyota all I know is that its a tom's set up my ecu is tom's TECS. my car is a TOM'S ae112 which I believe was only released here on the Philippines.

here's a picture of the brochure of my car but this is for the 1.6 model but the turbo kit is the same

Even with the economical design, it should not bog down up top. A lot of people back home are running low 11s - high 10s on 1.8 economy engines, like Mazdas and Kias, so it's not the design...something is wrong with your setup. Mine is automatic, not tuned, big compressor, and it pulls hard all the way to the redline.

im planning on buying an apexi SAFC or changing the injectors. if I change the injector what injector would fit the &
7afte? can I use the 3sfe injectors. as for the dyno theres only one shop with dyno here in the Philippines and it cost alot also its far from my location thats why I still havent dyno test the car but Im planning to dyno tune it once I got enough money.

7A injectors are High impedance (16.5 ohm) So bee on look out then buing new ones. As for the new what fit - I used Forr Probe Turbo injectors (330cc) and they where at about 75% of duty circle at 219 Hp and 289 Nm of Tq on my 7AFTE.. They are pretty rare to find, but they are good...

As for the S-AFC - save your time and $ and get Greddy Emanage (or even better Emanage Ultimate). This thing has way more potensial, and way more adjustments (ignition, injectors size correction, A/F maps, Engine anti stall and etc..) And the price of Emamage is almost the same as SAFC...

those items are pretty much very hard to find here. is there another option for those items? how about apexi SAFC II? since greddy products are rare here. also what octane should I use for my fuel? Im using regular right now about 93+ octane. but yesterday I loaded up on premium.

At least get a wideband on there for a couple runs to see what's up. What are you using now for fuel management?
