just for the simplicity of it id like to stay with the stock gt set up and try to upgrade with a heavier duty clutch assembly
will this do for a 5sfte running 10ish psi http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/F1-RACING-S...sspagenameZWDVW " F1 RACING STAGE 2 with Carbon Kevlar Steel-Back disc clutch kit is the perfect set up for Toyota Celica / MR-2 / Camry (2.2L 4cy) with upto 253 HP and 242 ft/lbs of torque. F1 RACING STAGE 2 clutch kit comes with Carbon Kevlar Steel-Back Facing disc that are resistant to slippage and burst. The discs have high capacity 6 sprung center dampers to reduce the drive train shock and impact. Increased clamp loads give the necessary capacity to handle modified engines and the pedal efforts will be slightly higher due to the higher clamp loads. All F1 RACING clutches require 500 mile break-in periods. Our picture below shows the ACTUAL item. RETAIL PRICE: $ 325 Horsepower Rating: 253 HP at the crank / Torque Capacity: 242 ft/lbs This complete racing clutch kit includes: * F1 RACING Stage 2 heavy-duty Pressure Plate * F1 RACING Stage 2 Carbon Kevlar Disc * Release Bearing * Alignment Tool Part Number: F1-56130R1-12 " |

yea i have an ACT street disk and heavy duty PP in the car now (its rated to 250ftlbs and its been in over a year now, with no problems) and i have no complaints about it.
as far as which brand is better or whatever, its all a matter of who you talk to. if you talk to enough people, you'll hear "horror stories" about every clutch out there. IMO spec, act, clutchmasters..ect..all make good products, as long as they are installed proplerly. if your doing it yourself, IMO one of the BIGGEST things is to #1 make sure your flywheel has been properly resurfaced, and #2 make sure every part is SUPER clean. i mean SUPER clean. use LOTS of brake cleaner (it leaves no residue) dont be shy with the brake cleaner. good luck! ![]() -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
