im installing speakers in the front and cant seem to figure out how to remove the door panal. i took off all the screws but since i dont have power windows, i have no clue how to remove the knob that rolls the window down. its the only thing that keeps the panal attached to the door.

I don't know if it's the same for Toyotas but american cars use a little omega-shaped clip that holds the handle in place. They sell tools that remove this, but you may be able to construct something yourself. You might be able to get in there with a flat-head screwdriver and push the clip out but be very careful as it tends to fly. |

The window handle is held by a retainer clip. Just take a towel or something and slide it back and forth under the handle (while pulling up). Then you should see a small bronze colored piece of metal, just take a flat head screw driver and pull it out. Be careful though, those things are small and may fly off when you pop it out.

i used a screw driver to pry some room between the door panel and the window roll down handle, and then used a fondu fork to get at the C shaped clip, be carefull not to lose the clip though, cause they go flying off. put your hand on the other side or have someone help you and catch the clip once you pop it off.
