Hay does anyone know of a wire connected to the air bag deployment system, I would like to set up an alarm/siren that would go off when the air bag is deployed, so basicly I want to connect into a wire that gets a signal only once a crash has occured.

would it be easyer to connect into a sernser for the system, rather then a deployment wire?

Dont know much but I don't think it is wise to play with the airbag wires.

I think the airbag work off current/voltage, a minor flucuation can trick the bag into deploying...

just quoting what someone said.

i would leave all the wire alone.
The only safe way to tap a power signal, is from the light in the cluster for the air bag light. I know the light stays on when the air bag deploys. But you will need to find a way to bypass the light when you intial start the car and all the check lights turn on.

^ Yeah I agree its not a good idea to cut into air bag wires. I wonder if just puting an impact switch in the frunt bumper would work, just a switch thats placed in the bumper so when its hit, its pushed in and triggered.

Your alarm's shock sensor should cover any impact that's big enough to set off the airbags.

yeah but I woudl have to find a way to wire it so that it would go off even if the alarm is not active.

Tho whole idea behind an alarm going off in the event of a crash big enough to blow the air bags is because I drive to a lot of weird places for work, and at all hours of the day, I'm thinking that if its in the middle of the night, on a not so popular road the chances of other people being there to see it/ help are low, but If I have an alarm going off drivers by who may not beable to see the car or whatever would hear the alarm and call it in or stop to see what it is. also it would be connected to a switch in the dash so I can turn it off right away if I'm ok.
