hello, well, i'll be taking the head off of my engine to have some valve work done...and my question is...is there anything performance wise i could do while it is off....?

...stupid question....is there such thing as putting a performance head on??

p.s. is this in the right topic section?...i dunno if it sould be in engine/many. though...?

...oh well...don't flame me if it is...

btw, i'll be having around $250 repair on the head i think...but going to have a shop run some test right now....

you could put oversized valves in there and some cams.

I've seen one set of cams ever for the 4a (which i think would work?) and i think they were about 1000, but i forget where i saw them. you could do a ge (performance head, look at nik's project) but thats probably more work than you want.

Just do a 3-5 angle valve good and port and polish. That's all you can do right now. Only cams are from Webcamshafts.com, and they're $650. It's a 5sfe man. It took me awhile to stop myself and say, "this thing is not worth it." I read post after post. But I actually talked to a guy who dumped a ton of money into a 5sfe and did all the stuff I wanted, and he then swapped in a 3sge and said he wished he never would have done anything to the 5sfe because it was a total waste of money. I'd just do a couple little things so that it's fun to drive, and save for something worth it.
