i took off the exhaust manifold off my car. i thought there was supposed to be a gakset in between the manifold and the head. i just wanna know what the purpose of the gasket actually is? what happens when there is no gasket?

Gaskets help seal leaks.. metal on metal usually doesn't completely seal.. So its better to have gaskets... I just got a bunch of gaskets for my engine as we get ready to put it all back together. smile.gif
