ok, I'm looking through the coilovers (i'm organising a group buy on them) and I notice that some of the Celicas have Macphersons, where some have Superstruts. (as you can probably guess, the Superstruts are VERY expensive!)

How does one tell whether it's an M or S type suspension?

Thanks smile.gif I will post up info on the group buy if anyone is interested.

They look different... hehehe. You have superstruts on your GT4. All ST205's had SS suspension...

yes, I know that tongue.gif I meant regular Celicas...

How can one tell if it's Macpherson or Superstrut? I need to be able to tell to organise this group buy, I don't want people buying the wrong coilovers!

lol, don't mean to discriminate... I mean sillycars laugh.gif laugh.gif

I should change that to something that is politically correct and just say everything that is not an ST205. so ST202/204.

Are you asking on my behalf Tangcla? tongue.gif

Edit: but as far as I know.
The st204 has Independent MacPherson strut at the front and back,
but the back is a dual link.

maybe wink.gif lol
but it's good to know. I think the 7th gen has a different suspension setup between revisions as well.

some st202's came with superstrut suspension as an option but i think it was standard on the ss3 models. the springs for both systems are the same so i think coilovers should be the same for both systems.

Here's a picture:
user posted image
The ones circled red are the regular macphearsons and the ones circled yellow are Super struts. The red ones are rears... but on Macphearson celicas... they look basically the same.

I forget who this picture belongs to... but it's a member from here... so credit to them... =]
