This would be a very difficult and expensiv swap. First, it will be damn near impossible to find a black top and if you do find one it will probably cost more than you paid for your celica. I don't even want to get into how hard it would be to complete the swap.

I don't get it? They say there were only like 1000 redtops, but these are even more rare than that? How many altezzas did they put these in? They must be alot more numerous than redtops or else why would they have alot more aftermarket support?
Also, exactly why is it so hard to put one in a celica? Its still a 3sge isn't it? |

eh why would you pay the money when you can get a 3sgte for the same price and a 3sgte has tons of aftermarket supprt + has alot of potential.

 Lumbercris: are you sure their are 1000 redtop beams? I'm sure there is more than that. they were available on SS-III celicas and they were also in MR2 I believe. I think the 3sgte would be cheaper than the blacktop. I think like Kwanza said about the tranny, but you could probably make it fit. All that i know is that the intake manifold wont fit because itd hit the strut tower, but you could easily change that out with a red tops. Then, the other problem is the cam gears, i think thers not much clearnce between that, itd be so tight there wouldnt be room for chassis flex. Im not sure, just what ive been reading up on. Not that im interested though.
