Well, I've noticed there is alot of frustrations going on when it comes to significant others here at 6gc. Like the rest, im going through some hard times and i was just wonder what the rest of you guys and gals do when it comes to making decisions. Do you use you head, or do you act on your heart. Me personally, I use to act on my feelings, wear my heart on my sleve, but i've learned i can't really do that, so im trying to use my head alot more.

p.s this was supose to be a poll, but i guess this works anyways..im computer dumb, and can't make the poll thingy work

I try to think with my head, but my heart tends to get in the way most of the time. So it never really works. I think after having your heart broken and handed back to you in pieces you start to just shut down and not think with anything, and "keep your guard up" so to say.

oh and you forgot to put in option 3... what most men really think with rolleyes.gif

See wat your head says, then if your heart disagrees just do what the hands and feet says. I usually just do what the hands and feet says, since they drag the body around.

head, my heart does not work like that anymore. I've tried to get girls to like me, but I guess I'm too fat and ungly for em, I get nothing but the cold sholder no matter what I say or how I ack, makes that whole topic easy for me frown.gif

I think a relationship should start with the heart and once it gets going should move to the head. then after a long time your heart can get back into it.

I was always maid fun of in school by lots of people girls and guys for no real reason, people would make up lies about me and look for any little thing to make my day hell, went though 6 years of it everyday, my guard is fully built and will probably never come down :'(

best reply so far. most of the time your first instincts are correct, but you head or heart end up making the mistakes.

Head or heart? Nonsense.

I made my decisions based on the reality that all women are whores.

You know the latest statistics say that 50% of people cheat in relationships. You know what that means? If you're being faithful, then your significant other will or has already cheated on you.

I still use both. A year ago I was cheated on by a girl I dated for 3 1/2 years. I'm in a new relationship now thats 3 months old. She's sort of different than the girls I typically would date. She has a **** load of friends and they are all people I don't know anything about. She's had a past with some things that I really don't care for. I have a suspicion everytime something doesn't seem right. I have no real reason to not trust her, but the simple fact that once upon a time I had a girlfriend who was "my other half" betray me so hard that I keepy my guard up almost constantly. I gotta protect my own interest in the relationship too. I don't want to hurt like I did just one year ago. I think the way things are going right now, this girl could be a girl I spend a long long time with...but with time, I will be able to trust her fully.

I totally agree with the theory that once trust is lost, it is very hard to regain. losing trust changes the perspective so much. It is way too easy to get crapped on by even the most trustworthy people out there. I don't like trust anymore. Trust is an easy way to get caught off gaurd and hurt more than you ever had to if you had your gaurd up.

Maybe thats why your first real love is one you remember so much, because everything was so innocent then.

Love is so hard...

wow cant beleive you say that..LOL..

but anyways it base on the heart but if you do go with your heart you end up hurting yourself pretty badly then let your brain take over and learn from it..that all to life..live and learn..its like a baby learning how to walk or crawl..but i guess they use their brain soo i think you should too.. biggrin.gif sorry if i dont make sense..LOL

^ not true...my frist true love..nothin was innocent wink.gif lol

But with me, i think with both...i think about how i truely feel, i think about how im gonna feel after i make what ever decision i do. Like for about a month or so i was like about 2 break up with my gf cuz every thing just kinda was..blah. But then i started thinkin..well its only crap right now cuz im workin 7 days a week, im working till 8:30 or 9 on 3 week nights, im not home untill 7 on weekends..shez in school and works to, we barely getta see eachother because of work and school..and if i broke up with her, i would be relived right now, but as soon as my job is over, im gonna be without her. Like ive now relized im gonna stay with her, we actually just talked about this 2night.

Agreed! frown.gif

My last relationship... lasted like a year... I was just so blinded thinking I was in love and crap like that that I didnt even realize how bad things were... Yeah there were good times, but none that could out wiegh the crap he did to me... frown.gif When he got angry all hell broke loose and then bad things would happen frown.gif

Listening to your heart has its advantages, but sometimes your heart doesnt know $h!t... Which is why you gotta use your head... Unfortunatly I never did... But I learned a HUGE lesson...

2 weeks after I got outa that year long relationship I got with my new guy and we've been going very well for 2 months now... I couldnt be happier, and he couldnt either smile.gif Its kinda a shock tho getting with someone so new after an ordeal like that... My new bf and my ex are complete opposites when it comes to temper... which is a REAL good thing... biggrin.gif

When it comes to loving and loosing and loving all over again... Yeah it is an endless cycle, but I like to keep my hopes up... Cuz you never know when someone actually worth keeping comes around... Your trust is something that always falls and builds itself back up again, its part of life... Life is too short to be sittin around heart broken, angry about betrayal, or whatever. It shouldnt matter how many tiems you've been broken, if anything that makes you stronger as a person and know what to look out for... At least for me anyways...

But then again... Im just 17... what do I know? lol
