I'm pretty sure they were but were the 6th gen gt4's sold in canada? I have to find one. I'd love to have the 3sgte but I think I would want it in it's original body. Plus the awd would be nice biggrin.gif biggrin.gif tongue.gif biggrin.gif

I'm gonna try to save up some money w/ a second job and if I find one then I'll try to sell my celica and buy the gt4. All the readind i've been doing in the forced induction section has given me gt4 fever.

They never made it to North America (or South America FAIK). Some people have managed to get them into America through Canada however.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

someone made the writeup on here, just gata find it.

in 2 years I would like to import one, but gata remember you would only be able to get a collectors lisence for it, witch is a limit to how many miles you can drive it a year or something, and its a very low number like 1200 something.

Oh that would suck, to know that in your garage you have a beast and can rarely take it out. mad.gif

I believe though that I will get one someday. I really do.

No. It was an ST20# Fwd converted to awd. No GT4 hood, front bumper, just the wing inserts.
It is now in Colorado. The new owner is on the board occasionally.

There is a reported 2nd conversion running around Fl, but never seen it.
One being done in CT as well....

There Was a beautiful one done in Greece on a US spec FWD 6th gen.
The whole rear floor was welded in. So that might be considered 'real". :-)

> you guys remember that? It was being sold on ebay...

Yes I remember. I test drove it. Needed a bit more work than I could've done.
Cosmetic and few mechanical issues, like a slammed suspension. Not good for my snowy area.

There Is a real red RHD ST205 in NH. it was on Ebay forever. Not sure how it was
ever legalized. It was imported by a New Zelander as his private car ?

One midwest RHD being repaired that was imported thru Canada as a parts car ?

There are options. Seems like $$$ and having friends in the import business helps.
Plus lax local laws. California is going to be a bitch to register on in ?

Nevada seems to be a state with lax emission laws, how come no one there
imports one ? :-}

I want one too, but it never seems to make sense for the money and effort to get one.
There was one for sale in a lot in FL. $19k. :-(((

There actually was or is a silver one for sale in FL for $19k .. overpriced yes.. and being sold by evolution imports they title all there cars thru loop holes in Fl .. car is considered a kit car i believe but not 100% sure ..

Besides mine (midest car noted in previous post) and NH car there is at least 3 more real st205's in NA.

one in Calgary (same guy who got mine) , black one that was sold on EBAY 3 or 4 years ago in NJ but who knows where it is now , and supposedly a silver one in WA but have never seen it ..

when i was towing my car home ran into kid at McDONALDS in Billings ,MT that said they picked up a friends JDM S13 in WA and importer had a silver st205 .. dont really care either way ...

i can say one thing about titling .. I have a friend who has a blue 94 jdm mr2 and he has had car for over three years been pulled over 7 times and never once i say ONCE was the rhd or his crappy vin swap (which he didn't do ) ever called into question .. Now he lives in Indiana and BMV laws are very very easy compared to most states .The car had to have a county sheriff impsection twice and passed without issue .. Now i am not saying if you get a st205 do a vin swap but there is no DOT police .. You deal with local authorities only so getting into US is the bigger hurdle .. title any way you want and good luck but understand the risks .. dont be ignorant..

my car was listed as parts car but still had to go thru 5 min inspection at border and had zero issues even through car was driveable and overall complete .. all they cared about was drugs, produce, and any hidden terrorists i might be smuggling in .. paid 200 in taxes and had paperwork done and cleared before i even hit border ..

now i am 32 and plan on using mt st205 as my collector car / hobby car .. would not reccommend it as a daily driver and even more so if your younger .. the RHD will be tricky for younger inexperienced drivers and being younger cops will go out of there way to investigate rhd . plus when we are younger we tend to have car exposed more out on street and that leads to issues with people knowing about your and will tell their shady buddy they really want your rhd car and that could lead to possible theft issues ..

i would love to see more st205's in US ..good luck and happy importing ..

Easier said then done ? :-)

Cool i wondered.

Ok, so what is your daily driver ? :-}

> the RHD

Would it matter much if you imported a LHD from Europe ? :-)
But probably cost More too?

> i would love to see more st205's in US ..good luck and happy importing ..

So would I.

Thanks for the input.
I hoep to see you with the car at a meet sometime !

I'm just saying roll it back so it appears you drove under the limit of miles, get it inspected and then roll it forward to the correct milage. I don't see why it's a big deal, it's not hurting anyone. Some might say, "If you go to resell it, then the milage won't be 100% accurate." to which I say, It's an ST205. This is NOT a car you would resell to anyone, and if you were to resell it to an enthusiast, they'd know what they were getting into.
