So, out driving tonight with some friends, taking them home from a concert, and they want to see what the Celi can do. We head for a small backroad. Turning onto it, I've got the underglow going, and get a little wheelspin cornering. Car feels great. I've got a straight stretch of road ahead of me now, so I hit the gas. Speed limit is 35, but road is straight and empty. Except for one set of headlights behind me.

You guessed it. They had me for

65 in a 35.
1 extra passenger
Underglow

And numerous other matters of symantics such as:

Cornering with excessive speed and wheelspin
Who knows what else?

Only, when the cop came up, he said

"Wrong place, wrong time. Liscense, insurance, registration. You got any explanation for what was going on here?"

I said "Being stupid and screwing around."

Cop: "Good answer. Sit tight."

He runs all of my stuff, checks the car for weapons, drugs, alcohol, and lets me go. I absolutely could not believe it. I honestly hope I've learned my lesson, because I seriously doubt that will EVER happen again.

redface.gif HaHa! I can one up you! Afroman can back me up on this one. Bout one week about i was driving along and a friend was behind me. We were going for some pizza for lunch. It was 2 lanes both ways and then at this one major intersection it cuts down to 1 each way. Well the lane that cuts off was totally open and the other lane was backed way up. So as im coming up on all the cars i switch lanes and GUN IT! i see my friend kinda do the same but about 1/2 way he slows down. I get to the very front right as it cuts off. There is a small hump in the road. I crest the hump and an orange vested man steps out about 2 blocks in front of me. Signals me to pull over with one hand and in the other is a radar gun.

50 in a 25
School Zone
No front license plate
No seat belt

I GET A WARNING! I was like.....no way. The best part was the cop was messing with me. He came back to the car and told me everything i did wrong. Had me sign the citation and then went off explaining stop class, (which i went to 3 weeks after getting my license!) I told me no i cant take it. Then finally tells me at the last minute that he gave me a warning. tongue.gif Nuckin Futs my friend.

i only ever got pulled over once, it was at night and i went to turn outa advanced auto parts(buying spark plugs) and i had my lights on and signaled for the turn, but when i hit my turn signal i accidentally pliiped my lights off and a cop infront of me imediatly pulled me over, but he was cool and only gave me a warning, a better one yet for you guys, my step dad was driving his s2000 which is yellow and cops notice it, well he was speeding and got pulled over and when the cop pulled him over he stayed in his car to check the plates and stuff and was taking his time, so my step dad opened his door look back and said EXCUSE ME IM IN A HURRY, the cop was like WHAT and my step dad told him that he was on his way to the hospital and the cop asked him "are you a doctor" he said yea and cop said ok go, it sucks doctors never get tickets they always use the excuse im on my way to the hospital

I said "Being stupid and screwing around."

Those 5 words wopuld have been the key. At least you were mature enough to admit to it. Most pr1cks would have tried to make excuse after excuse.
Doesn't excuse what you did to get pulled over, but it's refreshing to see someone being honest and owning up to being silly. Well done wink.gif

I live in a small town. Everyone knows everyone. Everyone knows who the police are and all that junk. When I did my Senior Project I had to do some sort of physical part, so since I was doing "Media's effects on Teenage Street Racing" I tagged along with an officer for a few days. It is amazing how much s*** they pull on people every day. We were driving down one road in town and there was a guy in front of us who wasn't wearing his seatbelt. He ran the plates as we were following him and it turned out to be some guy he knew. The officer turned on the P.A and said "Hey Jim, you better get that seatbelt on!" Once the guy in front of us knew who he was, and knew he wouldn't get in trouble he proceeded onto a back road and took off. So here I was sitting shotgun with this cop who is now racing his friend on a backroad. I will never look at the local cops the same..

Anyways... I was going down a road near my house back in the summer. It was a 45 zone and I was probably doing 55-60. I look back and see the blue-light special coming in behind me, so I pull over. The next thing I hear over the P.A is

"DIRTH!!!!!" (my last name)
"Hey Terhaar"
"Do you have ANY idea how fast you were going"
"To be honest, no. I don't look at it often. I just go until I feel comfortable"
"I ought to turn you around and we should go have a talk with your mother"
"Please don't. I just want to go to the lake"
"Well alright. Drive safe. God Bless"

(goes to my church, hence the last line)

lets see my second time getting pulled over, I was coming home with a friend we where eating at t.g.i.fridays. One of my boys works there so i decided to eat there but it is two towns away. Well anyways as were heading home i just start speeding no real particular reason why other than i wanted to get home quickly. So anyway iam crusing increasing speed until i hit this bridge, I start slowing down because theres a blind traffic light right after the bridge. So as iam slowing down i saw the green light and gunned again as soon as i pass the traffic light i see the red and blue behind me. i get pulled over and the cop comes up to my window and asked " so do you have an explaination?" I told him some bull**** excuse and i know i know i shouldnt have denied my speeding. So he takes my license, registration runs my things comes back to my car and says you know i caought you doing 87 mph with your brake lights on in a 40 mph zone , i wonder what you were actually traveling at. He then asked for my insurance card and as iam fumbing with my center conole to find it he says " you know i can give you a ticket for 5 points suspending your license". I acted shocked and amazed even though i already know the point system. He looks at me asked me if i had any other tickets to which i said no, he looks back to his car hands me my stuff back and says just slow down and get home. Cop was pretty cool considering i have all New york papers and plates with a new jersey license, and i was past curfew will traeling with another person.

dang... you guys are lucky! ive gotten so many tickets ive lost count. they range from speeding, to speeding, to uh...dwb (driving while black) but i think the luckiest i got was when i was in the VICINITY of some street racing and apparently the cops busted it up biggrin.gif rolleyes.gif and alot of people show up in this jack in the box parking lot. after a few minutes a cop pulls behind a corvette and a 'stang (which were parked at the time with no driver in it and starts taking liscence plate #s. im like UH OH... by the time i finally decide to get the hell outta there before he comes and harrases me, a cop comes behind me and starts writing my tag down i ask him what he thinks he's doing and he accuses me of being at the street races (had no proof) and if he saw our cars up there again, they would take them. i started to talk BIG TIME S*** to him but but change my mind b/c my plates and inspection are expired he was writing the plate number down and either didnt realize it was expired or was to lazy to care. i was REAL lucky (considering that that is the same cop who wouldnt let my friend drive off because his tread on his tires was worn out)
ah...i love my life... biggrin.gif
