Ok, recently, well not really recently, mostly since college started ive been WAY stressed out. What does everyone else do to "relieve" stress? And plz dont suggest yoga or something, im really not into that. I'm not gonna say im a MAcho man, but....well no yoga lol

Recently i went and played some roller hockey with a buddy of mine, (i used to play when i was younger, helped with my ADD) and i felt alot better after i played...less stressed and ****. So idk, just going out to skate alot is hard, so i was looking at some other options.

Go do any type of exercise. Studies show that exercise releases endorphins(ithink what its called) that makes the body feel good= less stress.

alot of people resort to illegal smoking of herbal medical plants, but im not going to recommend that. I go shooting when im stressed out, but sometimes that doesnt work cuz my aim sucks and if i cant hit what im aiming at, lol

Couple of things. I dont do drugs/smoke/whatever. Shooting i cant just go and get a gun......nor would I because there are others in my house that are stupid. (me included)
And exercise is good and all, but i cant go out everyday and do something. And Endorphins are right, just probally spelt wrong.

^...true..lol...when im stressed..i either go for a drive and find some new roads to drive, or just hit some ones i know r fun...or i go do some Parkour, or i call the gf..hehehe. I used to play Counterstrike or half life back when i had nothin better to do/didnt have a car. I found blowin stuff up in a game make alot of stress go away. Another thing i do, listen to either really really really heavy metal, or listen to really mellow rock.

If/when I am stressed out I head up to the skate park and ride the ramps. The feeling of rolling around and getting effortless air makes me smile. But I guess that can be considered exercise...

And sex.

drink or drive, but not together. sex/time with the girlfriend helps if you have one (i currently dont, haha)

i drink even when im not stressed though, i try not to let myself get stressed, its kind of like working out, but for your brain. try to take control of your life, its pretty easy, just wake up and tell yourself to be happy. its really that simple, dont sweat the small stuff, and try to change the big stuff, if you cant, just roll with the punches. life is too short to be spent worrying/stressed/depressed.

I try to avoid stress most the time, but when it does occur, i result to a punching bag, video games or playin the drums...i know the 3rd one probably doesnt apply, but the first two are good ones.

Oh man, I loved college. Nothing but four years of screwing around... parties, booze, road trips, and random sex all the time... god I wish life was that good now. Enjoy college while it lasts because as far as I've seen, it's about as good as life gets.

Plus they never tell you that your degree and education really don't mean anything. Once you snag a job they'll teach you what you need to do. I just drive around all day and record GPS coordinates and road data for online map databases. I love my job.

eat well, get the rest you need, excercise moderately, practice time management (papers on time, studying vs. cramming, etc.) and most important. Take time out for YOU!

Break the daily routine by setting aside at least one evening for yourself. Go to the library, coffee shop, poolhall or a to a mall and just look at the faces. Do something relaxing. Do it for you --and you alone.

Stress is after all one's reaction to the brain preventing the body from beating the living sh!+ out of those who desperately need it.

hang tough..in about 20 years, you'll laugh at what you called stress today-- trust me.

I barely have any stress at all ever. I lift a lot of weights for football, and occasionally have a couple drinks. But I don't drink and drive.

what kind of things do you guys do to get motivated through college besides booze and what not. since spring break i cant bring myself to even touch a book. as soon as i get around to something that must get done i usually have been halfassed and didnt really think about it. or i get really tired just looking at problems and take a nap only to wake up and play some random video games or something other than studying. no drugs cause that makes the mind weak. I lift weights but lately ive been sick and dont have much energy to do anything. i wonder if there is something that i havnt thought of that might really help me get energy and motivation back for school rolleyes.gif

you want motivation...spend an afternoon volounteering in a shelter or soup-kitchen. hell yeah!!! do you want to find yourself asking for handouts on a street corner in January. It gets f'ing cold in Millwaukee I hear. If you are sick, see a doctor. Get rid of the video games. Finals are just around the bend and you have to prepare yourself. Give it your best shot and think of all the things you will be able to do with a decent education.

excercise=energy

BTW I salute you for not resorting to drugs.

PS sorry if i sound like your father but i hate hearing about things like this. you have your whole future ahead of you...don't piss it away. ask for help from professionals or family or clergy or friends or whomever.

college is one big party, dont let anyone tell you otherwise. and i dont mean you have to drink or smoke or anything to have fun, i personally dont do drugs, i smoke the occasional blunt every now and then, but nothing regular. other than that i drink practically every thursday/friday/saturday night, and by sunday my body hates me, but i recoupe during the week enough to do it all over. often times on the weekend i dont get out of my bed till dark, i grab a shower, grab some food, then go make the beer run.

i get good grades, i guess im just smart, but even if i got horrible grades, i really wouldnt worry about it. we have the rest of our lives to be adults, to be responsible, to have kids, etc.

college is a 4-6 year (depending on your course load, graduate school, etc) sendoff, its about having fun. you will feel closer to the friends you meet at college than you have ever felt before, you will be sad when you graduate cause you wont see them anymore, but give it a year and they will just be "your college buddies". its like summer camp, and the "school year" is just around the corner. after these 4 years there will be no more spring break, no more semesters, no more grades, there will be bosses, paychecks, and timmys soccer practice. people say college isnt supposed to be one big party, but thats EXACTLY what it is, its a going away party for your childhood.
