as i was driving today i thought about all the stuff i bought for my car and how much they cost. so just wondering... how much money have you guys spent on your car after you bought it? not counting basic maintenance and what-not. i bought my car for $5000. and so far i've spent about $2146 during the 1 year and 6 months i've had my car.

Damn Madmods!
Well I've spent a fortune on my car too,
and it looks pretty much standard.
I've spent close to $AUS7,500, could be more.
Thats not including the Varis Arising II bodykit ($3000)
and maintenance.
It hurts to look back and work out how much you spent
on your car. But I dont mind spending money on something
I enjoy and love smile.gif

JDM tails $350

C-one replica Front
404 Sides and rear $535
Zyclone CF hood $635
Rims and tires $900
Brembo cross drilled rotors $220

I wasnt talking second car, I was referring to the extraordinary amount of money ur spending on a celica when you can easily buy a much nicer car, but w/e if you wanna take shots at 2nd cars like an immature lil kid then go for it, but no matter what you say I still didnt spend 30K on a Celica and prop my 1.8T on a pedestal when it got spanked by the Streetzking.

its hobby you should know that just about as well as the next person on here...there really isn't a point in spending money modifing cars..it yeilds no investment or gain on return it just eats money and depreciates with the more you put into it.. its about the pure satisfaction and joy in doing something you love...and i didn't pedestal the jetta i mearly said it will do just fine...and yea nick beat me in a 1/10th mile race it was impressive..you over it yet? it wasn't that incredible

OMG, almost 16k for a celica.... JESUS

Anywho, my
car was $4500
CF Invader hood, bumper and sides = $450
rear bumper extensions and riser blocks about $350
PS2, TV/DVD/CD = $800
Rims and Tires = $900

So $7000 total for me.

P.s.
someone should go through and add up the total that EVERYONE spent on there car and see how much it is. Wonder if we got $150k worth of celica on here.

I havent spent near as much as most of you guys, most of my stuff has been for repairs or keeping it running...

3500 for the car 8 months ago.
400 on clutch + install.
300 for radiator, headgaskets and all new belts.
150 in misc. interior things such as the seat covers, paint, etc.
300 on deck + speakers.
250 for jdm tails
65 for the diff front lights and bulbs and what not.
500 new starter and new power steering pump + line.
900 for tires + rims
100 for bumper.
300 i think for the bullet sides.

Total of like 6800 for the car and everything ive done to it. . . To think i coulda bought a nicer car for 5k and saved some money. Celica is my dream car, so its all worth it. (other then a supra)

holy freaking crap. those numbers are crazy. actually, i'll probably end up in the 10,000 range when i graduate and start working. for now i'm broke and unemployed and rely on x-mas and b-day and allowance money. i feel bad if i spend thousands of my parents' money for projectors, 96+ bumper, splitters and skirts, 4a-ge engine swap, and a bunch of other stuff. expect my numbers to go up within the next 5 years.

2200's pretty good considering you've got a 5s-fte. especially compared to some other people on here. some of you guys must be really rich... or really broke after spending all that money.

I've got receipts and a meticulous record of every dime spent for "enhancements" for the 99.

Total right now including deposit for the motor swap and parts not installed: 6578.05. NOT including the purchase price. After the motor swap is comlpetely finished, that number is going to be above $10K.

just thought i'd update this thread since i've been bought quite a few new parts for my car in the past few months. so far i've spent about $856 plus the $2156 in my first post back in april. so my new total is $3012. and i still have to install some of the exterior stuff so that's gonna cost even more. just wondering how much you've guys spent lately. plus i'm sure some of the new members bought some new stuff after learning where to get them from this site.

i bought my 98 for 5500, and it already had the exhaust on it, the only things i bought for it was the streo system and i got that used so it was only like 200 for the head unit, subs, box and amp, i would put a bunch more things on mine but i dont got the extra cash right now , otherwise shed look sweet if i did.

I've had my car about a month and i've spent close to about 700 dollars on a car I got for 2500... When i bought it it needed new tires, and i didnt get them right away so when one blew, it cracked the rim... SO new rims came shortly after the purchasing of the car, then CAI which I did myself, tires and this all doesnt mention the 500 dollar stereo. Pretty much Im living from check to check to buy more stuff.

$0 for performance upgrades
$0 for exterior stuff

total spent? $9500 for the car.

add in maintenance cost over the years, 2 $250 deductables, and I guess I've spent I dunno, maybe $11,000 total? I bought the car with 56,000 miles on it 5 years ago.

it's not worth it to me to mod it. 99% of the time, money you spend on modifying a car you will never, ever see again. i wouldn't mind a gt-four front end and all that jazz, but spending 1/5th of what the car costs on a hood, bumper and paint just doesn't seem worth it to me.

instead of performance, i bought a 2003 GSXR-600. that's $65 a month for the payments, and it can blow the doors off of anything that can't run 11 second quarter miles. thumbsup.gif

Ive spent about $20,000 in the last 18months not including the purchase of the car or the $400 a month on fuel, the only labour being about $900 for mapping, all the rest was on parts. Im a loooong way off being finished yet though, seems kinda silly doesnt it..... laugh.gif

bought the car for $4500 in...June? Can't remember...someone go find my first post, lol...

since then,

$600 for parts and labor to get it serviced and tuned up (desperately needed)
$300 for a Viper 2-way paging alarm system and installation
$30 to get my nickname vinyled on the back glass
$10 to have a place tell me that I need to pull my chassis out 4 degrees by the front passenger wheel in order to properly align my wheels >_<
$400 is about to get dropped to re-upholster the seats in leather (waiting for a new driver seat...hmmm...)
nada for the amp and 12's (someone owed me a favor)

...and I still need to find a new steering wheel...that looks good...and has a horn...and works....lol

so far, then, I've spent $1340 in my first two or three months of ownership...not bad since that's almost exactly what I sold my other car for, lol.

Not including the cost of the car, Ive spent about £8.000 (US$14,500) which is mostly on restoring the car to how it should be...and on mods of course.
