Please dont qoute me on this, but i think the fastest FWD car in the world is a 6th gen celi. I remember seeing it in a popular science article. I am not 100% sure on this, so if anyone has anymore info, please post.

I pretty sure that the HKS 6th gen Celica was the first FWD car to break 8 seconds but for the fastest FWD car is or was recently Lisa kudro with a Saturn ion that broke 7 seconds. And for a celica to run 8 seconds i bet that it was far from a celica any more

Indeed. I know of 600bhp 4wd Celicas that struggle to break 10s...

yup..thats the beast!! n it is rwd..it didn win yesterday tho..although it ran 8's.. it didnt win cuz most of the runs he would start loosing control, so he would jus lay off the gas..unlike some other idiots who would lose control, get control of the car again, n then punch again..caused 1 of the dudes in an Rx-7 to flip his car like 8 times n a lexus to smack against the guard rail. Im happy this driver didnt push the celica after loosin a bit of control, or else i wouldve cried if he crashed it!! but me n him were the only two 6gc's at the show/race..kinda made me feel proud. thnx to everyone for the congrats BTW.

Im beginning to think that photo is photo-chopped. The hood just don't look right at an angle along with the headlights and what not. I think its a supra chopped to look like a 6gc!

its actually a real car... I think there was a thread on it before, but I can't find it, nor do I know what engine he is running... Pretty sure its not just some v8 though because it does run with imports (and the event was an import event), but I really cant prove it... couple more pics, and ive seen this car once in person

Holy sh*t that's awesome. I hope my MR2 friend in Florida sees that. He used to kid me that my Celica would never be as fast as his MR2T. Even when I had the Caldina GT4 motor in my garage getting ready to go in.
Of course he's probably right. rolleyes.gif

ive seen this car in person myself..twice. and ive seen him run the track more that 10 times..it it sure does not soun like an american v8...well, i guess someone already figured out what he has under the hood..all i could say it was a privilege to see this 6gc on the track. if u go to any of the Battle of the imports events (at least the one in florida)..i'll gurantee you he is there. car is definitly not photochopped n is not a supra..as a matter fact, there wasnt a single supra at the event on sunday n e way.

Another tranny option could possibly be the 6-speed that is used in the JDM Altezza. It is RWD with a 3sge motor. Not sure if the bellhousing would be the same on the RWD motor and a FWD motor though.
