ok guys, i know a lot of this is on celica tech and all, but when i search on there for general information (for instance the ats turbo kits with rom tunes, and other things) i see a lot of people i recognize from here posting, and i really enjoy hearing what you all have to say!
i think we should discuss things here that a lot of us read or posted on celicatech just because we gotta have some forum pride. ill start off the discussion with two things: what do you all think about the power fc for full stand alone engine management, from what i understand this wont be available to everyone as easy as others, because i have a 92 mr2 motor, i think they make a power fc straight for my engine and you all have to modify the st205 one ![]() secondly: what do you all think about the td06 ATS turbo kit, the "300 whp" kit, i think its a great deal and you get all your parts at the same spot so its just like save up and bam, you got 300whp. i figured id post this since most of these threads are about troubleshooting haha, go crazy guys lets hear those minds work! |

with the TD06 kit its not just bolt on and BAM 300whp...you need supporting modifications and control...
but i'm not a fan of the mitsubishi turbo... personally i'm more towards a KO racing streetbrawler with a 46 trim... and the Nemisis > the Fc imo but really it depends on who is goin to tune your car and wat they are familiar with along with your financial situation and needs...i think only like 5 or so people on this board even have a glimmer of need for an EMS so its not a big discussion here.... |

actually the tdo6 is exactly that.
just bolt on an 300whp, well, you need a boost controller fmic and exhaust, but i doubt many people are gonna not have that when they are looking for a turbo upgrade.. edit: im talking about the td06 kit from ats, not just a td06 turbo. Combo #1 ATS TD05 20G turbocharger kit ATS 550cc rom tune Flow tested Toyota 550cc fuel injectors (4) ATS modified fuel rail Walbro 255hp fuel pump 170 degree thermostat total price purchased separately: $3444. ATS Combo Price: $3000 Total savings $444! edit: thats from the ats website but heres his thread on celicatech http://www.celicatech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9746 also post a link to nemesis This post has been edited by brianforster: Apr 24, 2006 - 5:35 PM |

I think the TD06 is a bit to much for a fwd swap, even with LSD. I'd go with a ct27, its more than enough. Also another option is to find a ct20b in decent shape. You would save thousands.

is the nemisis and i know what the kit was..rom tunes are pretty good but arn't really tailored to your specific car...needless to say it leaves alot of tuning to be desired as its a "general tune" rom its great for the $ and for a budget spender all in all i think ATS is a great situation for someone on a "budget" and it has great parts for the cost..but if you were willing to save up a little longer there are better options for parts (note i'm not knocking ATS here i love their stuff) |

QUOTE(brianforster @ Apr 24, 2006 - 11:33 PM) of course id run a fmic as i already have one.. and its pretty much bolt on and many people daily drive 300 hp on the gt tranny edit: of course i dont mean that the stock gt trany is going be fun to drive with 300 hp, thats a whole nother story lol a GT tranny isn't going to last long at that kinda power neither will axels for that matter. but intercooler isn't in the kit cause its called a turbo UPGRADE kit....meaning you should already have a full turbo system up and functioning aka an intercooler already in....IMO use a spearco its the best there is but a better matched tranny would be an E153 and an uprated SPEC clutch kit as a stock clutch isn't going to do you much good |
