whats up guys...the stock 2nd gen 3SGTE oil cooler has 2 coolant lines going into it. the one closer to the exhaust manifold (the thinner one i guess) is leaking coolant on my 3SGTE. i need a part number or atleast whats this gasket called so that i know what i'm ordering. thnx for any help guys smile.gif

btw since i didnt do my swap this is the first time im taking off the downpipe on my motor...how do u guys get to the bolt thats closest to the oil filter? it looks like a tight squeeze

congrads, you are leaking from the Hose from Hell. while your at it, replace the one on the left too.. aka hose from hell on earth. your lucky that you already have a 3in dp on there, because the stock one is a major pain to remove.


these are the part numbers
Hose from Hell 16283-88381
HFH on earth 16282-88380

drain the oil, remove the oil filter, and oil cooler.

well i wanted to take the DP off because it looked like it would be hard for me to get to the oil cooler...so is it easy access to the oil cooler without taking the DP off?

no...you missunderstood me. you MUST take off the downpipe. you also will probably have to take off the oil filter as well as the oil cooler to get the downpipe off and get to that little hose. the one of the left of the oil cooler is hell on earth, the one on the right is hose from hell. since we are not dealing with an mr2, its not THAT bad, but still a pain for such a small hose.

art: my bad we both are misunderstanding each other. i meant the bolt on the downpipe closest to the oil cooler...any tips on how to get it loose? looks like a tight fit

if you take the oil coller and filter off, you should be able to get a wrech in there, to get to that downpipe bolt.
to take the oil cool off, you will need a 6point 30m deep socket.


props for doing some work on your car, btw.

aright well looking under the car the hose from hell and the hose from hell on earth arent leaking...its that gasket (like i previously thought) shown on the picture that is leaking, part number 16258-88383. think i'll replace the HFH and HFH on earth while im down there anyway... biggrin.gif

i would DEFINETLY replace the HFH & HFHOE while your there.
they typicly last around 100k before they start to get brittle and whatnot, so might as well just eliminate it while your in there getting your hands dirty!

yah im definately replacing 'em smile.gif tho theyre not bad yet cuz my motor is roughly about 50k miles right now. it just surprises me how this one tiny gasket can leak so much...i'm leaving puddles of coolant like crazy everywhere.

tho its a good thing that my car isnt really seeing daily driving right now and thats why i always carry xtra oil and coolant in my trunk at all times lol never know what can happen
