I just have a question for those with body kits. I have had mine on for almost 2 yrs now and the front lip looks like cr*p now cuz the paint is chipping like crazy. How often have you guys repainted ur kit? Does ur paint chip this easily or is this uncommon? Any feedback or pics would be helpful.

Well, I've had mine for a month and there isnt any chips yet.
But I've scrape the bottom of the front bar twice. You cant really see
though. This is at stock height so, I'm not sure whether I want to lower
it anymore than it is when I get my wheels.
But I guess it is pretty common for kits to get chip and stuff. Also depends
where you drive.

2 years seems quite short for paint to just be chipping away. I am in the process of getting my kit put on, but unless you scrape the kit alot, or drive through rocks it shouldnt be chipping. When you got the kit painted did you just do it at a MAACO shop or did you take it to a reputable shop?

chipping is pretty common with kits...

If you wanna keep it under control I say paint/touch up like once a year... Ive had my kit for like 5 months now and its chipped a little bit... I think its the fiberglass to blame... that stuff is crap! >_< Im gonna be doing a touch up sometime soon when it gets warmer out, I just wanna keep my car pretty smile.gif

i've had mine painted for about 5-6 months and the lip has already made contact to snow, gravel and stone a few times, i've got a little crack where the fiberglass has been bent when i hit, no chipping though. i guess it depends on the quality of the paint and how much work that was put into it

2 years, have got a fair few stone chips and it has scraped the underside on the road lots of times too so its starting to wear away, luckily you can't really see it from above, only if you get down and look underneath. I still have it standard height as I cannot get out of my driveway otherwise, but alot of driveways and exits to carparks have a ramp down to the road so can't really avoid this.

You will always get chipped paint cos of stones flicking up from other vehicles. When I first got the kit I had the front bumper on for a while just in primer while I was messing about with the rest of the kit, and was washing it once and notice a hole in the fibreglass where a stone must have hit it and punctured it, pretty glad it hadn't been painted then.

you can expect for it to chip man. its not if its WHEN. ive had mine for almost a month and i have a crack on the bottom lip (about an inch long) and a scrape mark. touch up once a year is the way to go. im tempted to just paint the bottom inch or 2 black so i can touch up whenever with spray paint...

oh and dustin GHETTO=easier on the pockets. biggrin.gif
