I need it and I agree with you Nick, that would look funny when you get you rcar and you have to put the key in it and what not. I would say get an alarm if you don't already have one with that opion with it. I will get it when my car comes out of the shop this summer so its not a problem.

I installed keyless entry on my car along with power door lock actuators because I didn't have power door locks. It was kind of an all day project for me because I had never done it before, but it wasn't too hard. I got everything, the Crimestopper CS-845RKE keyless entry system, and two power door lock actuators for $60 shipped on eBay, and then I bought a siren(for that needed "chirp chirp" sound wink.gif) for $10.

It was well worth the money and time spent installing it, and it's so convenient. It works perfectly and the remotes have a pretty long range. If anyone is going to install keyless entry, I can help you out. Maybe I'll post a how to as soon as I've actually got light outside and can work on my car and take some pics. smile.gif

Ok...i'm probably stupid but what exactly is keyless entry? Isn't it just pressing the button on some remote and it unlocking the door for you?

Hey Ghost....me too!

I thought it was going to be something clever like pressing a button and the door itself pops open.

That'd be possible too. You'd just need those door open actuators that you can get from places like http://www.autoloc.com and places like that.

be sure if you get one of these systems that you wire up a switch hidden somewhere on the outside of your 6th that is hooked up to your power windows... cuz if the selinoid goes out your poppers won't work... I you wire up a switch you will be able to roll down your windows and still get into you car.
