thought i'd post this here to ask.. tried the search but gave me trouble with the three letter thing... anyway:

I know its possible to convert the car to RHD. I know its not the easiest thing, but is it legal in the US, or would i be asking for a boat load of trouble by doing this? I also know its very unsafe, correct? but at the same time i realize how unique it would be and it just makes me ponder the idea..

thanks in advance

There is two ways that i know of. Take a front clip, and just take the firewall out and switch it over.
Or just take the wholeclip and weld it on. Now alot of people will think that this is weak, but that is how the car was assembled from the factory. of course someone that had alot of training and skill would have to weld that up.

Imo, this idea is pretty dumb, and a waste of cash wink.gif ...moreover, take the money you'd spend trying to trick your car out and put it toward performance --> spend wisely. Imo, this conversion would not be spending wisely.

For someone with the skills, Its a hard task but if you do it yourself it can be pretty cheap, the only hard part is tracing new panels that you break or that are not in good condition that come with the clip. (even people in Japan treat there hondas like dirt, SCREW THE ITR interior)

jcbass7 - Ripping out both interiors of both car / clip, then chopping the firewall, realinging it, welding it, putting in all the new stuff, then the WIRING nightmare...

Honestly unless your doing show, or your left handed I probley wouldent reccomend it, Its one of the hardest things Ive done car wise.

On another note, ship your car to me and a ST205 clip, Ill swap firewall and 3sgte.

well ive been talking to the people who are interested in buying the st2o5 clip on ebay and i told them i'd be interested in everything needed to convert to RHD. so thats where i would get all the parts.

What wiring is involved? doc. Tweak currently has my harnesses because he is setting me up for my 3sgte swap, which is currently in the process. i figured if i was going to swap lhd to rhd then this would be the time while the interior is gutted out and the engine is out.

snapshotgt, I see what your saying, but sometimes i like to be a little over the top.. my parents already think im crazy because i drove 1,000 miles to pic up another celi and a 3sgte. Yea it would be nice to put the money into performance, but if im going to commit to spending on this car i would love to have it exactly how i want it.. not that rhd is a huge thing, but i just like the unique factor of it..

jcbass7 - Its not just interior gutted, its heater, brake lines, clutch line etc... it gones on till you think you have gone insane then there's more.

I will admit RHD is sick, I personaly love it even being right handed, for shows and daily driving its fun, althought limiting in traffic.

There are 2 ways to tackle the harness, convert to a ST205 harness (I wouldent) or convert yours, lengthing, shortening, and all that good stuff. I will someday do a write up on it.

First, Thank you for allllll the help so far.

Yea i figured i'd have to move most of that. Just seems easier now with everythign out.. if the items i want to do it with fall through i doubt ill persue the idea in the near future. But i would love to have RHD. only a few people ive asked think its a decent idea. most of them think its rediculous, but i like the show aspect and uniqueness of it. Sometimes you just gotta attempt hard things to evenetually be able to do them.

This car has been a huge learning process and im loving every minute. Thanks again for the tips/advice so far.

How long did it take you to convert yours?

I havent converted a 6gc yet... But plan on it.

I have a done a ITR front to a GSR and it was a pain in the ass, but as honda's go there parts are pretty easy to source. They dont change there climate controls or anything so thats pretty easy, the only problem was the moonroof still doesnt work, and cant find any A-pillars.

About 2 month turn around...

I'm almost finshed with my convert from RHD to LHD of my JDM ST205 WRC. So it's possible, but you need a lot of different parts, even things you don't think off!!

What's the pics of it on our dutch board:
