Went to pick up the car about 2 hours ago, Test drove it and OMFG unbelieveable how much torque this engine generates. Its fast just WAY fast. going from 60-110 in 6,5 seconds. Needed to test if the speed limiter was removed, well it was smile.gif

Going easy now and will test drive it for the next 2 weeks before putting some major stress on it. In this period I hope to have fitted the GT4 hood and bumper and also bringing it to the painter.

I'm just amazed at how my tires held up, did not push it but no wheelspin in 2nd gear on semi wet surface. But still have to break in the clutch. So keep you guys updated. Will try to make a few better shots tomorrow sinces it rains now and my car is dirty!

Thx guys.

Still have 2 minor issues that have to be solved.
1 Speed limiter is still on the car but not on 180km/h but at 195km/h Cant be certain if its that or fuel cut.
2. Because the stock ST205 exhaust did not fit properly I still have my old exhaust, Which has 2 inch piping, because of that the car gets alot of backpressure and it sounds like an F18 when going above 5000rpm. Going to replace that section+exhaust temporarily with an Invidia exhaust untill my new (probably Blitz) exhaust arrives.

But have test drove it now for about 4 hours and 120 miles I can say. Because the car is heavier on the front i have more traction. Haven't pushed the car at maximum, but I have the same or more grip in corners. Plus still not managed to get a lot of wheel spin. Guess my Tyot Proxes T1-R 225/35/18 are pretty good!

Yup. Painter is a friend of mine so we are gonna start doing little thngs to begin with, Stripping the car of its spoilers/skirts/lips etc. Then were are gonna test fit the brand new oem gt4 bumper (which wont be a problem) and GT4hood. From the wreck I took out the hood hinge so extending that wont be a problem. Only problem left for the entire conversion is welding the crashbar with Foglampbrackets to the front of the chassis.
About the blocks. Bought the custom raiser blocks from doGGy last year, but since then the car has not been repainted (because of loss of job etc.) They will be installed when car is repainted.

Got PM back.
Yeah power is always there just great. Put a lot of miles on it yesterday. And discovered that I get better Mileage with the 3S-GTE then with the 3S-GE. Drove the first 156 miles (experimenting) on 7,5 gallons.

Boosting alot I still get 20-22 MPG while i have to be easy with the old engine just going steady 75 MPH on the freeway doing the same or less. I gonna test drive it tomorrow but it think going steady at 75 MPH (@ 3200 RPM) I will get 30 MPG.

Overall this is the best thing (after installing the Teins) that I have done to the car. 1st Swap, 2nd Teins, 3rd Projectors.

Yup but only barely. Have a minor scratch on the IC from one of the plastic pins that hold up the insulation. Just waiting for the painter to give me a call that he has time to do my car.

No welding needed but it is the easyer option......for the authentic GT4 look....the chassis extensions that the crash bar bolts onto are easily removed (2 big bolts per side) then fit the GT4 specific chassis extensions to which a GT4 crash bar will bolt directly on to.

P.S. when your radiator is starting to go pale like that its a sure sign it dosnt have much life left in it (prone to cracking just in front of the rad cap ) IIWY I would replace it as soon as you can.

Thx for the tip. Will look into that. But I think it also has to do with the lighting. Engine itself came from a 1996 ST205 with 100K km on it.

Already ordered some new goodies.
HKS Turbo Timer, yup after a few days I'm already getting lazy, don't want to wait 1-2 minutes in the car to let things cool of.
HKS BOV: Having to much "ricer" boys in there honda's or VW golf GTI/VR6 who think they can win. I let them win the takeoff then when 2nd gear cames its bye bye, but want to add a nice touch to that biggrin.gif

Also going for an Aussie 3"downpipe and will go for a full custom 3" exhaust. Now still using my Dual exhaust (st205 exhaust did not fit) so the 2" old exhaust is keeping some horses to find there way on the tarmac biggrin.gif

nice setup and congrats

not so sure on the Turbo Timer since your water and oil cooled..and a stock motor there really is no need for one...the 300$ or wat not i could see spent in a better area

good luck!

ditch the turbo timer and go wideband

edit: other than boost i believe wideband to be the most important gauge for a turbo car

Did not know the CT20b was watercooled?! But I'm learning new things every day!

I live next to the high/freeway, I know myself I cant drive at a reduced rate to cools things down hence the TT. it was only 100$ about 82 euro's so I dont feel that in my pocket really. TT and BOV are not really necesarry but the same thing goes for EDFC for that matter.

I wouldnt bother with a turbo timer either...

...watch out for boost creep with a 3" exhaust you`d be much better off with a 2.5" exhaust on a 205 engine

Using the ST202 Tranny. If I hadn't had a 3S-GE I wouldn't have bothered swapping since 3S-GE or 5S-FE tranny's are quite rare here.

The CT20 turbo had many oil cooled only versions, found in the Hilux turbo and Camry turbo diesel in the 80's, Early 90's. They were rather small units that only churned out about 6 PSI on a stock wastegate. CT20B is a much different beast, churning out about twice the boost stock as well as being water and oil cooled. Thats what was enlisted for duty in the 3rd gen 3SGTE motor.
