has anyone removed the resonator and use the stock muffler?

I'm just looking for someting a lil more agressive without being louder. And I hate fart cans.

I once removed the muffler itself and the car sounded damn good.
I had to put it back on to pass emissions though. But while it was off
it sounded good. Give it a try.

I've done it. You're not going to notice much of a difference except it sounds a little more raspy when you let the RPM's drop in gear. My advice--save 20 or 30 bucks and don't get it done.

I know I had my muffler off once and it didn't sound much different... seemed like the resonator took most of the sound away... but i took the advice of people here and kept a resonator... I got the 2 1/4 in custom cat back with a res and a magna flow exhaust.. I love how it sounds. nice and deep... wish it was a little louder but I'm glad its not ricey..

when i got my catback, i took the resonator out and it sounds hella sicc. its not ricey or anything. i thought it sounded kinda like an srt 4, but thats probly just my muffler. i think they also said i could pass emissions w/out the resonator, but iono. ill see when i get it smogged soon.
