Hi guys I was wondering if anybody can tell me what's wrong with my car
I have 94 gts w/ 3s swapped (2nd gen) Mr2 lsd tranny
Gts shifter cables, spec 2 clutch, hybrid axles
Problem:
I having some kind of problems trying to get it 1st gear every now and then
it doesnt happen all the time.
what do you guys think on whats wrong with it.
Please help.

I would look for st205 cables. They are rumored to work better with the E153 Tranny.

im pretty sure first gear does not have synchros so therefore it is harder to get it into gear especially if you are rolling..

i dunno, im prolly way wrong though

nah you're not wrong, first gear isn't syncromeshed, mainly cos its designed for you to select it when you are stopped (thats on all cars I think, though I could be wrong.)

Have you checked to make sure the clutch is getting pulled out far enough when you press the pedal?

I'm sure most of us have had a time when the carpet/mat has got a bit stuck under the clutch pedal and you press it but it doesn't go all the way down which makes it difficult to change gear?

There will be a way of adjusting the cable. Not sure how though, never had to do it.

I think I already found the problem...
I notice that the spacer that we made for the cables and the clip that holds it is gone. it must have fallen off when the car was shaking a lot before.
I will work on this this weekend to find out if this is really my problem.
