Well for the last 6 months my pay checks have been garnished by 25% because of a credit card bill of mine. This has caused me to fall behind on my car payments because I cant afford to pay rent AND car payments with a garnished pay check....

anyway they came & towed my car away today frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif

I officially suck, no idea when Ill get my baby back frown.gif so ill be car-less for a while...yeah...

the weird thing is I had a dream about a week ago that my car was towed...but luckily I woke up from it...this time...not so lucky.

I know its my own fault! I really hate myself right now, I cant stop crying....

I'm sorry Amy!!

I sympathize with the feeling of loosing your baby. Mine comes home tomorrow, but then it may leave permanently. Loosing a car is so hard.

That's so lame. Sorry to hear about it. At least you have a car to drive in the mean time. Tech9ine is right, you can do better by getting a loan to pay off the credit cards. Or you can do what I did and get a card with 0% interest. I lived on one while I started my business.

That sucks bout the car. Get it out of impound (or whatever it is) soon. Some places charge by the day to store the car. You show up to get your car back with the $$$, but then they tell you you need more $ than you brought cause of charges.

Yeah Im working on it right now, my dad thankfully is going to try & help me out. Capital One said I have 10 days to pay them in full of any past due payments (like randy was thinking) So if & when we can send them the money they said to sent them an express moneygram....then I can go to the storage place holding my car & get my baby back! We will have to pay the storage a $75 fee for whatever plus $25 for every day its in storage. Sooo....gotta work fast to make this happen!

Im feeling better about it today - no more crying - well im trying not to anyway tongue.gif

This is my temp. ride for now...my friend said I can borrow it if I give it a bath....DEAL!

OMG what would I do w/ out my family!

GOOD NEWS

'Amysmojo' will be home some time before the end of the week. A family member heard about the mess I got myself into & has offered to pay for my late car payments + make the July & August payments to give me a head start on getting my bills under controll.....on top of that this same family member said if I get a part time job - then they will match whatever I make each week so that I can get my debt paid off once & for all

I am speechless...this person is my HERO. My whole family knows how much my car means to me...I think they want it to come back home just as much as I do!!

anyway thanks for all your replies everyone - its nice to know im not alone.

now that you have your car back, hire a lawyer and get those ****ers to buy you new tires for your wheels. dragging a car from a driveway with the e-brake on is vandalism. i am serious, if i were any closer to you (and american) i would raise such a stink they would smell it all the way to Sydney, Australia. talk to legal aid or go through small-claims court. they had no right to ruin your tires. things like this pee me off i just want to spit.

sorry you fell into the pit of debt...many of us have to go there before we priorize and live closer to our means. glad to hear you have family that will help out. charity does begin at home.

keep on keepin' on. you are great. your car is great and the 6gc family luvs you.

10^6 hugs for Amy

axel, here tow truck drivers can pretty much do whatever the hell they want, i even asked a lawyer about it..

considering the bank owns the car at the moment, i doubt the bank is going to sue the tow truck driver they paid to take the car from amy for new tires smile.gif

true story:

at my school (towson university in baltimore maryland) parking is such a pain that we have one tow truck company that makes bank for towing, well one day i watched them try to tow an ion, first they tried to jimmy the lock, and the alarm went off, then they tried like 3 more jimmys with the alarm on, finally got the door open, took the parking break off, got the alarm off, and towed it away..

i asked my law professor if it was legal and he said pretty much in short yes..

i couldnt believe it, tow truck drivers can BREAK IN to your car to tow it? thats freaking ridiculous

lagos - My family is not the type to just pay things off for me. I am not being handed money for no reason. I have a full time job!!! I have had the same full time job for 6 years now. I only started getting into trouble 3 years ago when I decided to move out & live on my own - no room mates no nothing - did that for about a year couldn't afford it so I got a credit card to help me out...I even traded in my 2001 Jetta 2 years ago & got my Celica in order to get a car with lower payments (which are still kinda high but lower than the jetta) & now I am in this never ending cycle of high interest rates from my credit cards bla bla bla & here I am today with my family being there in my time of need.

The part time job is only for paying off my debt! That's why they are going to match what I make @ the part time job - so that I can get out of this situation ASAP. They understand my pain - been there & done that & they want to help me. And I will one day pay them back whether they accept it or not...it will just take time. So I will have both my full time job & a part time job.

So please do not roll your eyes @ me assume I am a spoiled little celica girl - I already feel bad enough & I'm trying to fix things & get my life together.

That is why I've decide to hold off on moving out and go to college. Your not much older than me. But unlike you, I've worked at the same job for atleast 8+ years (probably like 10 frown.gif ). I remember working there when I was in the 7th grade. No I don't get paid all that great. I only make 300 a week (under the table). But unlike you, I would have lost the celica, no one would have helped me out period. I can't even get someone to co sign for me to even get a $2,000 notebook for college. Paying only 50 dollars a month. So you've got more going for you than some do. Oh and my car is a hand me down, my sister bought it, didn't want it anymore, gave to my dad, he got tired of taking me everywhere smile.gif so he gave it to me. Which I had to finish paying for (250 a month). Guess how much I made, 250 a month. -_-

No I'm not rolling my eyes at you, just trying to point out that you've got more going for you than most. Just think, if my wreck would have been totalled out the other week, I would be without a car for more than just 3 days, more like 3 to 4 months. Cause I can't even pull a loan from a bank due to not having any credit. Which is why I got myself a credit card. Plus college should help me in the area aswell smile.gif

enough of my life story smile.gif

Glade ya got it back, I hope to get mine back tomorrow smile.gif

LOL - reading this..... and let me tell you your not alone i did THE EXACT same thing ! Moved out couldn't afford it after a year or so , sold my 2003 GTI golf and bought my old celica to save a bit of cash ! Still having problems , sold the flat and moved home til i payed off my credit card and bank loan.....now 18 months after moving home i'm in a situation where i can afford a place again ! The over-time i did in the last year was horrible but it needed to be done wink.gif

It gets better , just takes time....and hard work biggrin.gif

The golf was crap anyway biggrin.gif

Great to hear that you're getting your finances back together and you got your car back. It's so hard to get back up after being down like that. It just takes time and perseverance. Sounds like you have both going for you.
