Me and my friends had been arguing over this for a while... WHAT THE HECK is McQueen? Is he a Dodge Charger? Or what *IS* he? In the preview, I saw the old school blue color Plymouth Super Bird that was driven by Richard Petty, the green colored one was an old school Monte Carlo... but what the heck is McQueen....

Someone please enlight me.

oh btw, do you know that the King Richard Petty, Michael Schumacher, Dale Jr, Darrell Waltrip, Mario Andretti, and Jay Leno are voiced in the movie? Just for that list of voice cast I can't wait to watch it hahaha

As it turns out, Lightning is no particular kind of car. "Due to aerodynamics, the shape of NASCAR cars is relatively flat," says Lasseter, "and not very interesting." Lasseter and his team designed McQueen as a hybrid between a stock car and a more curvaceous Le Mans endurance racer, says Lasseter, "with some Lola and some [Ford] GT40." Keen observers of the sport will note, however, that McQueen's rear spoiler is in "short-track" configuration — tall and upright — even though he's racing on superspeedways. (If you know this, you have pegged the Foxworthy meter: You might be a redneck.)

I wonder when it would open in my country? Need to check that.

By now I was planning to organise Import Cars spot on opening of F&F: Tokyo Drift, but I am still Celi-less and it will not change in next two months...

So i read the voices of all of the characters and they dont say if hes an import or not but there is a scion xb so i guess there is an import

Voices and the Cars

The voice actors who portray the main characters are:

Owen Wilson: Lightning McQueen (Pixar original racecar)
Larry the Cable Guy: Tow Mater (1955 Chevy Wrecker Tow Truck)
Bonnie Hunt: Sally Carrera (2002 Porsche 911)
Cheech Marin: Ramone (1959 Chevy Impala lowrider)
John Ratzenberger: Mack (1985 Mack Super-Liner)
Paul Newman: Doc Hudson (1951 Hudson Hornet)
Richard Petty: "The King" Strip Weathers (1970 Plymouth Superbird)
George Carlin: Fillmore (1960 VW Mini-Bus)
Michael Wallis: Sheriff (1949 Mercury Cruiser)
Paul Dooley: Sarge (1942 WWII Willys MB Army Jeep)
Guido Quaroni: Guido (Forklift)
Tony Shalhoub: Luigi (1959 Fiat 500)
H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler: Tex (1975 Cadillac Coupe de Ville)
Bob Costas: Bob Cutlass (Oldsmobile Cutlass)
Katherine Helmond: Lizzie (Ford Model T)
Jenifer Lewis: Flo (Motorama show car)
Joe Ranft: Red (1960s American LaFrance pumper fire engine)/Peterbuilt (Peterbilt truck)
Michael Keaton: Chick Murphy "Hicks" (1980s-style Chevy Monte Carlo Stocker)
Tom Magliozzi: Rusty Rust-Eze (Dodge A100)
Ray Magliozzi: Dusty Rust-Eze (Dodge Dart)
Jay Leno: Jay Limo (Limousine)
Darrell Waltrip: Darrell Cartrip (1985 Buick Regal Stocker)
Jeremy Piven: Harv
Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Junior
Mario Andretti: Mario Andretti
Michael Schumacher: Michael (Ferrari F430)
Fernando Alonso
Doug "Mater" Keever: (Motor home)
Larry Benton: (Motor home)
Lynda Petty: (station wagon)
Adrian Ochoa: Wingo
Jonas Rivera: Boost
Lou Romano: Snot Rod (Plymouth Barracuda)
E.J Holowicki: DJ (Scion xB)
Elissa Knight: Tia (Mazda Miata)
Lindsey Collins: Mia (Mazda Miata)
Mike Nelson: Not Chuck
Edie McClurg: Minny
Richard Kind: Van
[edit]
Crew

Too bad WINGO isnt a specific car but rather a custom one. I cant find information though on what imports they based him off of!

The humour was alright. I didn't really laugh much. However, the attention to detail and creativity is astuounding and worth the price of admission alone. This movie was obviously made by car lovers... it's just that the script could've been so much more instead of being watered down for kids. The biggest laugh came from the tractor tipping... I mean come on! I'm not five, and even if I was, that wouldn't have been amusing to me.

Still I walked away feeling like it was a cheesy ripoff of Doc Hollywood.
