Hey, I found a website called JimFab.com. They make custom strut bars for cars for only $60 apiece. You could get a front and back for the same price as buying one. I think I would paint one black if I got it, though. They don't look that pretty.

everyone knows that are is NO group buy on this right? i just suggested that if they do make a custom bar for someone on the boards and it is good quality, that they do offer group buys. Even if a group buy happens, it wont be for a very long time... so just no one get there hopes up too soon.

sorry bout the last post, just didnt want peoples hopes to get up...

but theres bad news; i emailed the guy and here is what he sad:

email:
i was wondering if your company could make a custom front strut bar (2 or 3 point) for a 94-99 toyota celica. I am part of a celica forum (6gc.net and celica.net) and know that many of the members there would be interested.

reply:
thanks for your questions

i would love to help you guys out, however i am having trouble keeping
up on the honda parts. hopefully sometime in the future i will have the time.

thanks again-jim

hondas screw us over again! but maybe if people keep emailing him, he'll try and get us in earlier

Man that pisses me off, Hondas get way too much attention, I say we make our own company that makes nothing but 6gc parts and nothing else, but, that takes a lot of $$$$$.

If we let him know there's enough demand for the part, he'll probably be willing to make it.

Okay, here's the deal. I'm gonna ask this guy when a target date would be, if he would need a donor car of some sort, etc.. all the questions, i'm going to try to work this out, this will probably be my first group buy.

The positive thing about that, would be that it's not like you're gonna be dumping 1000's of dollars in to this. I'll get some price quotes, and all that other wonderful jazz. I will keep you guys updated on this. Hopefully we'll get matching bars for under $150 or something. I REALLY hope this works out good.

It just sounds like he was saying "well while were on the subject of celicas, I will talk about the new one for a second" it sounds like he knows that we mean 6gens.

Here's the email I sent the guy in the first place :

QUOTE
Hello, I'm a dedicated celica owner, and reader of 6gc.net / celica.net message boards.   We recently discovered your site, and i've been told you were having trouble keeping up on honda parts, so you couldn't fab these bars for the 6th gen (94-99) celica.

I noticed that you didn't have any toyota parts listed on your site?  Do you think you would ever produce Toyota parts, for celica's/mr-2's & what not?

Over on celica.net / 6gc.net , we have a lot of swappers that would probably snap up some good motor mounts (5s-FE, 7a-FE, 3s-GTE, 4a-gze) and a lot who would dig on those strut bars.

The alternatives we face regarding suspension :

Cusco / Jspeed / C-One 2-3 point bars - average about $150 a pop AT LEAST, not including the $50 shipping we'd have to pay to get it imported from japan.

So far, on 6gc.net, your website has generated 145 views, and 9 people are already interested in a strut bar.   I imagine posting it on celica.net (about 8000 registered members) would generate even more buzz.

Just a heads up for ya, keep up the good work!

There.. That's what I sent the guy, so no, there is no confusion. He understands the 6th gen part. As for the 5th/7th gens, i'm not sure.. I imagine it wouldn't be too far of a strech for him to produce those as well. If there's a market for some 5ths, (which I hope to generate off of celica.net forums) he'll probably make those as well. I'm gonna call this dude this weekend when I've got some time and really start diggin on this info. I'll keep you guys updated.

Dude, if its a 3 point strut bar......it'll be a heck of a lot better. The stock GT strut bars can't compare to an aftermarket one. Even if APC made a strut bar for us, it'll still be better than the stock ones. Anyways, I would definately throw down on this deal if it was under $150. Lets keep us updated, I believe everybody is interested.

Guess not since I posted on this a long time ago and no one proved me to be incorrect.
