Well i havent really posted on here lately being the really busy person i am,,......lol but i have been wrecklessely overworking myself at my job doing over time and all this due to the new project i came upon about 2 months ago. well to cut it short i had a e153 converted all trac tranny to fwd platform with a cusco lsd and well to go with it i needed an engine,..... so the guy that sold the tranny to me and also converted it told me about his mr2 and his 600+ HP 3sgte swap and well i asked him about his motor currently in the mr2 turbo (3sgte) and well i ended up buying everything i will ever need for the 3sgte to run in my car,.......and well also advice which was how he blew about 4 3sgte's and it was his first time building one up from scratch and reccomended me to, soooooo after i pulled everthing from the mr2,......i trailed it home and put it on the stand and i took it completely in pieces and well now the block is currently in the machine shop getting bored out .002 over and well i guess i took his advice and well im reaching a goal of 350 whp as a RELIABLE motor at 20 lbs of boost sooo YES i am ready to dump alot of money and btw i have a f10x haltec ems system and here are some pics of me in the gray undershirt and my friend pulling the motor apart

Definitely good choice on the tranny.

Good luck w/ a motor from an MR2. Make sure you get all the brackets 'n stuff form an all-trac to convert the motor to work in a front engine platform...

welllllllll soryy about that brian but i havent been on in a while and moneys been tight on this 3sgte rebuild so i am going custon exhaust manifold (well built one) so i shoudve let you know before. but as for the rebuild thanks all who have left good coments wink.gif and well i hope i achieve my goal but i have pics of the engine put back together withought internals but just for the fun of learning my engine inside out and well the pic below ( piston's ringland is brocken off and thus the reason why the rebuild is being done) and well rebuild brings better things,................forged internals .0025 over pistons, etc soo look out im trying to get mid 12 sec pass but more importantly,........reliability!

so this "guy" and his 600hp mr2, do you have any other details on it?

Personally 20psi is a LOT of boost to daily drive at, a dual setting would be better. Especially in a fwd platform, i know at 22psi my first gear is nonexistant.

also are you going to be changing the intake manifold, any headwork and what injectors do you plan on using. Im assuming you have 93 octane where you live, and 22psi (without water injection) on 93 on stock injectors will kil that motor. Not putting you down or anything, just convo about 3sgte. My goal was turnkey 420hp with NO extra maintance work (i.e. retorque headstuds, oil change, coolant flush) basic things. and i finally acheived that just wondering your path to take to perhaps change some of my own setup.

Cams, intake manifold, throttle body would help that engine breathe easier so you could get your HP # easier.. probably on less boost = more reliable.

You want to use as little boost as possible.

yeah mos definately but i want reliability with that power,............seeing around here you need to have a reliable fast car or else its just another full race vehicle not a fast ass street car and around here theres alot of top dog street daily driven high hp cars so might aswell beef out the internals but yeah i really wish i had the money for cams or custom intake manifold, that way i wouldnt need to boost too much but to a surprise i went up to paradise racing to pick up a cometic 2mm head gasket and well he gave me a deal on eagle rods i could never say no to,..............EVER!!!! so well i tore the block apart again so i can replace the stock rods with eagle h-beams and arp bolts included and well put it back together in no time and well finding the right socket to fit those damn arp head stud nuts is hard as crap because clearance in the bolt bore in the head is highly restricted and especially cuz i need a 12 point 12mm socket restricts it even more!! mad.gif grrrr but this bad boy will be torqued down asap aswell as oil pan on and cam shafts on aswell but still need lower idler pulley from toyota and i can finally put it to top dead center and put the timimg belt on and need purchase of clutch from competition clutch( 6 pluck race kit) and this monster will go in the celica,..........oh yeah and now i need a custom manifold for the borgwarner t3/t4 i got from paradise aswell ( paradiseracing.com--excellent parts for toyotas ---best prices---highly recommend) and still need more money in my little piggy bank for the haltec ems (e6x)1200-1400bucks well i definatly am getting alot of great feedback from pro toyota builders and they're letting me know i will definately be hitting the goal of 350whp at about 18 lbs of boost (plan to run 24 lbs of boost at the track) well i wanna say i really want the celica to break the low 12 high 11 sec barrier with drag radials and my tranny with a cusco lsd.IPB Image

wellllll everyone i know its been a while and i havent posted anything recent........sorry bout that, but its just ive been working alot and well three 3sgtes later i went with a jdm mr2 3sgte with 40k miles on it because the other two motors went out becuase of the freakin oil pumps, well this motor is greaaaaat!!!! love it! well all i can say is that friday october 5th i took it to the dyno and got this motor retuned by NTO motorsports.........specializing in toyota motors and Haltec ems'.......................outcome????????

293 whp and 263ft lbs of torque,..............all at freakin 12 psi peaking at 13 on a t3/ t4 turbo all bone stock motor except for fuel pump and turbo kit( custom) and haltech ems with sensors!!!!!!!! gotta love toyotas,............because i beat the crap out of a k20 powered civic hatch running 13.1 in a quarter mile and i smoked a crx with a b20 vtech spraying 75 shot of nitrous and all this done on all-season tires (btw this did happen at the track) man people finally respect young drivers and toyotas round my way
