on the tops of my pistons 3 (#1,3,4) are marked 2D and one(#2) is 1B. what do those markings mean?

Best I can figure at this point is that there are manufactures that make piston sleeve kits for the 2D and 1B motors. I don't know if you have different sleeves, or that is just how they are set up in a 7afe. But were I'm looking, it also mentions sleeve kits for 7afe motors. Maybe you have some kind of hybridization going on, or there is another explanation for this phenomenon.

i dont think the 7afe is a sleeved motor tho....its a cast iron block, theres no reason for toyota to sleeve a cast iron block.

I'm just going off of what I seen on that site. It also lists them for a 5s. I didn't know the 7afe was an irion block. I thought the 5sfe was though. Why did they make such low performing econo motors iron block? Cheaper, I guess.
