Well...I got an offer yesterday;
My (completely rebuilded) engine, along with the TRD forged pistons, bored block...etc... for a ZZ23 1,8 TS fully stock engine, and some cash (about 500 US$)... 1. Would you? 2. What about the transmission (also rebuilded, btw)? 3. What problems should I expect during (and after) mounting it in my 7A-FE engine bay? ...ANYONE...?!? ![]() This post has been edited by IGloo: Jul 14, 2006 - 12:17 AM -------------------- ![]() Another proud 6G Celica owner! |

your engine mods don't make sense to me... and does a guy want to trade cars or engines?
the ZZ series and A series share similar enough mounts that only a bit of fab work is need for them to interchange... however the hard part NEVER is mounting the engine, so much as wiring it up to run. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"

Wiring is not the hardest at all, it's rather simple actually. Just send it to Dr. Tweak. The other hard part is to get the exhaust to clear the fire wall, which means it's either a custom manifold, or cutting the firewall.

Yeah, only problem there is that this guy is in Croatia....
A 2ZZGE swap, if that's what you're referring to, is certianly doable. There will be some minor work needed to the mounts, plus you need to decide which transmission you use, and then if you go with the 6-speed there are the axles to sort out. And, of course, the wiring. Depending on what car the engine came from, the header may or may not clear the firewall, as mentioned. -Doc -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |
