Different wheels, what for? As long as you know how to weld and cut, you should be able to put it on your car and have fun with that. I knew a guy in high school that had the 2.2 turbo in his Omni, and he really liked it.

just because you cant feel play doesnt mean there isnt any.

by any chance its not a VNT turbo is it? some of the 2.2L turbos had garret VNT turbos. you could resell it for a little more than $50 on a mopar board maybe.

Lets not be so rude !!!!
b1gr3d you got a turbo for a good price, it's just not what you need for your car... The 2.2 5sfe can use the 3sgte turbo & manifold, the whole turbo set up... you can get it on any celica site or e-bay...
try to sell that on ebay or on a neon or eclipse(420a) site.( thats what I was looking for my girl friend car... (GS eclipse going on boost) so its not usless!!! look these guys use other turbos

i'm not worried about any fab work at all, but will i beable to make a fair amount of power from this lil guy? I know not all 2.2's are created equal BUT if they put it on a 2.2 that must mean something right??

Yeah, if it's small, you'll just get the power spoiled really quick. Might not be a much, but still fun. If it won't run enough boost, just put another one on. For $50 a pop, you could have a nice twin turbo set up. Probibly wouldn't be any better than any single ct26, but it would be nice bragging rights.

If its the same inlet as the DSM turbos (T25 style), then I wouldn't bother with modifing that turbo when you outgrow it. You can follow the same upgrade path as the DSM guys, upgrading to a 14b, small 16G, big 16G, Evo 16, 20G...
You can get a used 14b for around $100 or small 16G for around $200.

I have a 14b on my 3S powered celica, and its great. It'll put out 250 to the wheels easily.

Good luck getting this rebuilt... Plus there uterly garbage. Some kid here had it on his civic... dude Just Get a ct26!.... you took your biggest power additive and made it your cheepest part. My brake pads cost more than your turbo.

It's been said befo, and it'll be said again. You can't cheap out on the turbo. You'll spend more $$ down the road fixing your mistakes then you will by saving up and doing it correctly. I'd say that you made a good buy that you should turn around and sell to somebody who can use it. Then, put that $$ towards something that's right for your car.

You could line them up horizontally in the front of the motor. That would look neat. I think the 2 is more practical and fesable.

someone posted about this turbo on the sr20 site, it too small to be worthwhile. it will be more of a restriction than power maker.

CONCLUSION:
t03= smaller than ct26 which to everyone here seems too small to even be useful. BUT the fact is that it still pushes air and i am NOT looking to try to get the maximum amount of power out of it and the engine. AND using a paerformance calculator all i need to do for better performance(with this turbo) is get a compressor with 60 or super 60 trim, and even with the 45 trim i will go straight through the center 74% island and at 4500RPM i will just barely cross into the 70%(both at 7psi at 10psi it will go farther into 70%) and with the super 60 i will be just shy of the middle of the sweet spot.....so I will say it now. I will make this turbo work. It won't break any records, it won't be the most powerful, and you all might not agree with it..........BUT there is more than just a ct-26

Go for it man! Thats awesome! Screw all these naysayers here. Do what you want and be different from everyone else out there. Who cares if its not the fastest? Whats better... being just like everyone else and being fast, or doing something totally out of the ordinary (such as piggybacking 2 of those turbos together!) and learning alot by it and getting a good bit of power out of it too??? Id say go buy another one and just go crazy, engineer that beast to work!

CT26 sucks. The only advantage it has is simple installation with the stock manifold. Switch over to the mitsu style turbos - more efficiant, faster spool, more boost.

yah it does suck.... but I would take a ct26 over some junkyard hood rigged turbo setup. and why would you care if your not looking for much power?

cheep turbo = cheep performance....

Agreed, it will be interesting, and you will learn alot. If it doesn't work just get the CtT26 next. I like crazy stuff like that. wink.gif

I know that I'm a little late on this but... Good for you! I encourage pioneering of all different types of motor setups... I can also really appreciate the fact that you have not once said that it will be the fastest car on the road, or anything stupid like that. Of course you are going to get people who are critical or your ideas. The important thing is that you are happy with the way that your car turns out... Remember, that's the best part, It's your car! at the end of the day who cares what anyone else says... If you are proud to drive it, then that's all that matters. biggrin.gif
