Minnesota Meet Thread Options

Just wondering if you guys would want to get together for a meet around the end of September or early October. I cant drive till the 21st of Sept. because of knee surgery so it would have to be after that. I was thinking of going to BIR but the last of the weekly races is the 20th Maybe the 7th or 8th of October? I figured we could start planning it now. Any places we could meet? I'm not very familiar with the cities but I can follow any of you guys.

car is being stupuid...i blew the turbo's oil seals like 2 months ago and haven't had time or money to fix it so i'm thinking about converting it back to Na for the weekend jsut before i store her and therefore save some money to get the turbo sent out. i heard you sold your celi for a bike?

what are you guys planning to do over the winter on the celi

for me im gonna,

put on my springs
put in my new clutch
rear discs if i can find some
new sub box(might be fiberglass)
and if i find the time im gonna work on some custom headlights

i'm sending my turbo to be rebuilt and my injectors to be cleaned. i will be putting on the tein coilovers and hopefully front and rear jspeed strut bars.

he sup guys i just got back from a driving trip to florida and back with my girl. she bought a 3s swapped mr2 down there. weather is so nice down there i wanted to stay. so of course i'm jelous now cuz my womans got a swap. maybe when she is asleep i'll trade her engines haha.

Yea I've been to DB and they have a pretty sweet shop. My buddy had his turbo rsx-s tuned there and they did a really good job. I'd say one of the better tuners in the state. I'd probably go with RS motors though, as he knows a bunch about Toyota's.

i want this cold weather to go away due to my motor not being original and i have no idea how many miles are on it, im thinking about scrapping the turbo project. However my buddies may have found me a 3s i can get cheap so im gonna look into that. I wanna get a meet going sometime in the spring. and maybe a night up at Brainerd this summer.

Hey I found a 3s motor on craigs list for 995. I dont know if it came with axles or anything. Do you even need axles if we use our 5s tranny? Yeah I hate the cold weather too.

the complete swap is $850 with the old motor out already. hopefully it'll be done soon...just called them yesturday and the said the motor is all put together already so i gonna go in on friday to see if its true. but a 6gc will out run a honda non vtec...but if it has vtec then its a different story...

I regret because it costed $3000 just for the motor itself when i could of bought a whole front clip...but i was dumb and was in a hurry to get that motor....and what ever you guys do, dont ever buy from toysport because they are really shady....made me pay for the pallet that the motor was on...lol...

the red one is a peice of junk!...i called the guy and he said it was like brand new...i went to check it out and it had rust and the fenders and front bumper colors didn't match...ask the guy and he said it he bought it off a wholesale/auction and fixed it up...the brakes sqeek and ugh so many things wrong with it...it's been there for like ever...

anyways i've checked all carsoup, autotrader, and cars.com and they had nothing...

i knew i shouldn't of sold my last celica! it was by far the cleanest ever! i regret it so much...

WOOT i just got all my new parts installed tonight. it looks pretty good id say its about 90% back to normal. ill post up some pics tomorrow. if you want a turbo rick i have an IHI RBH52 that could be for sale.

she bought the car down in florida as a project car..got it for hella cheap. it has a 3s swap but it's afro engineered you know what i mean. so it was making a tick sound when you'd accelerate..so looking on mr2oc we find out it's a common problem with the exhaust manifolds...the dude had washers and bolts on the head holding the manifold instead of the studs haha. so we pulled the turbo n stuff out ans replaced the gasket and i bought some new studs and installed it back together. we're gonna finish up on sun probably. if that solves the problem the motor is getting pulled to get rewired and cleaned up and installed properly. they're missig motor mounts bolts and everything haha. ghetto. but we'll get er done.

hey I bought the red one for 3200 and it kicks ass. I have a friend who works at a body shop so I had him put in new kick ass breaks for cheap. And he's gonna paint the fender. I couldnt pass it up there wasnt **** for celicas near where i live. Oh and my friend has a 2nd gen. so i had to show him up. But i hear what you mean. Its still a GT hatchback I had to have it. Very Fast. My pics on my profile dont do it much justice. But I'll still spend some time and money on it. Isnt that the point of coming to this site.

i'll probably be there but i dunno about my car. i jus took apart my old 5sfe that seized on me with the turbo setup and i found that i spun the connecting rod cap and the main bearing right next to it on the second cylinder. april 15th is gonna be a chilly one.

yep stripped down bare block. nothing on it. it was my original engine with around 130k on it. i spun a rod bearing so it was toast and i just bought a new engine. i just got done stripping it down and gonna go bring it to the scrap yard. but if you need it go for it i was only gonna get like 50 cents for it anyways. steel is cheap. aluminum is pricey one. let me know if ya want it.

yeah i think he had that car for like a month...it was on carsoup a while ago by a vietnamese dude. it has a big dent on the rear driver side..no sunroof...and i called and asked about the motor, he has no paper/proof showing it's a new legit motor...

id really like a nice all power option celica...sorry i just can't live without all power options crazy me
