So like many others on here, during spring/shock install, i had to cut off the sway bar end links to get them off. So of course i need new ones. I would like to upgrade if i can so next time i wont have this problem. Does anyone know if ones from a st185 would work, as in they being a similar length? I have found great ones here:

http://www.twosrus.com/catalog/product_inf...products_id=254

If they dont work, ive been told i can call them and they will custom make some to the correct length.

GOOD NEWS FOR US! i got my answer by emailing them:

I was wondering if you made sway bar end links for the 94-99 celica. If not,
can they be custom ordered? They are very similar to your MR2 and st185
ones. link to picture of sway bar end links:

http://www.lewfx.com/6GC/end_links.jpg

the center bar from weld to weld is about 7.7 cm

thank you,
Asher Yap

From: David Hawkins
Club MR2 <orders@clubmr2.com>

It appears to be the same as the ST185 rear link. That's just
over 3" between the ends and the ends face the opposite directions.

Which means.... Cut away at those old crusty ones, cause now you can order these stronger ones with a nut on bolt design so youll never have to use that hex key ever again! I just ordered some, both for $75 shipped. Ill let you all knwo how they work out.

Sorry for the delay with this guys. I got the sway bar end links on friday but was busy all weekend. Ill try to install them later this week, but as you can see, there is no reason why they shouldnt be a direct fit. In addition, you can see they are somewhat adjustable in length although i havent tried it. They are much more beefy than the stock ones as well as better constructed without that stupid allen key point. There is an actual bolt part to hold!!

since no one else has put anything up..
i ordered some and installed them, they fit up great. i also replaced my rear top mounts (they didnt look too bad tho) and the rear end quieted up completey; got rid of the clunking noise.
didn't adjust them, they came at the same length as stock so i just left them there.
so, how about some fronts?

Do you need these to replace the stock ones? Or do you still need to buy if you were to say buying a new set of suspension tech's sway bars? Can someone clarify, thanks.

just a quick question about the rear links, i just bought myself two sets (i thought putting 2 in the qty field would give me 2 links, not two pairs).. anyway, it seems that they can be adjusted.
would making them shorter make cornering a little stiffer and improve balance?

I think it might buyt don't quote me...I also think it would were out the bushing back there much quicker.

and if you want to get rid of one of those sets, I would be happy to take them off your hands smile.gif

bah.. my bushings are probably already done for. i hear clunks nearly every little bump.. one of these days, i'll have it all fixed..

in regards to the extra set of rear links, i was gonna wait and make a huge FS thread with all my spares, but i can let it go early. they're still in the bubble envelope and never touched.

Ok so I'm just guessing but I would think that changing the size wouldn't be the best idea since we're all trying to see if our OEMs are the same size so that they'll fit? What's the point of making sure they're the same size if you can just get any old size and use it?

well the sway bar rotates up and down so you can make it longer or shorter and it could still very well fit....the performance of the sway bar is really a twisting motion as i see it (could be wrong)
but to gain any performance outta it the mounting point of the endlink has to be moved either farther in (stiffer) on the sway bar or farther out (softer)
up and down = not so much effect

You are correct sir, twisting is what our sways do which is why we get thicker ones to help reduce the amount they bend. So the only thing I can think of to modify performance would be to make one endlink shorter so that the bar is somewhat bent and then you would have a little stiffer turning when trying to bend it more? or the other way? I think my logic might be a bit off, I've been working too long. lol. I'm gonna shut up now. laugh.gif

i don't think you would want to offset the endlinks in length as the sway bar is designed to be level at normal ride..."preloading" it could cause adverse effects and potential tire wear possibly?

maybe if you get aftermarket sway bars, you may as well change the links for these aftermarket ones while you're at it. these are so easy to install and remove.

well im going to be lowering my car soon and i was thinking about buying these, but i dont really wanna just throw away 150$ bucks if i wont notice anything at all, but im pretty sure just by looking at them that it would show minor improvements in overall suspension feel.

actually i haven't felt any noticeable difference.. i bought these links thinking that my old ones were the cause of my rear clunking all the time.. i guess i need new suspension arms.

btw, i don't think these endlinks create a noticeable increase in handling and stability.. as previously mentioned, they're just aftermarket OEM replacements. imo, you're better off putting that money for strut/sway bars if you're looking to stiffen your suspension.

if you're getting clunking when going over any bumps (like something is knocking around back there) then it's more than likely the sway bar bushings, about $6 each from the dealer.

i dont really wanna stiffen my suspension, i just get tons of horrid noises and vibrations that werent solved by a wheel balancing/rotation, so im trying to get the ride quality improved and im researching little by little

Would I save a lot of time/effort if I replace both the endlinks and the rear sway bushing at the same time?

sway bar bushing are easy, end links are a bit harder.

i will try that, thanks.
just a quick question though, i've never taken a close look at those bushings, but would i have to unbolt the endlink-to-sway bar connection and slip the bushing through the sway bar? either way, i'll probably figure it out myself.

i was just wondering... didn't everyone's sway bar set come with new bushings/brackets? cause i think mine did... (was a while ago when i got them) i get some sounds in the rear when going over bumpy roads but i never looked into it bcuz it sounded like my spare tire jack

crap... i completely forgot about this thread... i just bought new oem endlinks because mine were messed up after someone hit me...

i have ST sway bars. i know you can't feel it, but are they actually stronger so a stiffer sway bar won't cause it to wear/break as easily?

if so i think i'm gonna refund the ones i just bought and get these instead.

or since i got new ones anyway will they hold up just as good as these?
