right, so I was attempting (attempting being the key word) to change my spark plug wires tonight, and there are these plastic things that hold the end of the wire onto the distributar cap. yeah, well I broke them while trying to get them off. so now the ends of the wire fall out of the dist. cap. anybody know where I can get more? and instruct me in how to remove them without breaking them. and tell me what they're called, if you could. thanks

ive seen 3 different kind of caps.
1. 2 small prongs that you squeeze to release 2. you need a flatblade screwdriver to release them 3. calispec/obd2 which are glued to the cap and are not changable. -------------------- |

If you mean the plastic that is around the wires. The new ones should come with a new set. If not then the wires are wrong. If it is the prongs on the disributor cap then just get a new cap. The plastic is common between Toyotas because my T100's V6 has them on the 3 drivers side wires. If this sounds wrong then post a pic of what you are working on.

Just glue them on if you dont want to spend 50$ on some new wires. Use a flathead to unclip them next time.

got some pics for you to see what they look like. I broke three of the four, this is the only one in one piece still. I figured out how to get them off on the last one (of course) so I have one on there now. here's the pics of it:
![]() ![]() I already have spark plug wires, I bought NGK wires, they didn't come with them. so I think I might go to the dealership tomorrow and see if they can get me any. if not, I'll go find some in a junkyard or off someone who is parting out there car in the buying/selling section. Oh, and here's a pic of my new wires. I got the NGK iridiums IX's and NGK wires installed correctly today ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |

yep, those are the same kind as on my car. any corolla, camry, or celica of the correct vintage will have those at the junkyard.

went to the toyota dealer today. they placed on order on the three I broke. apparently, the four clips are slightly different, and have different part numbers. So I had to order the three I broke. cost me $19 for these stupid little clips. *sigh* oh well, at least I know not to break them now. what sucks is I can't drive my car until I have them, and they won't be in until saturday.
