Hey guys. I was browsing online and landed on some products throughout the world wide web. I want to know what is the difference between Halogen Bulbs and Xenon Bulbs??? I looked at the Halogen Bulbs and they said that it was for "Off Road" use which I really don't care about but then it costs like $35.00 for a pair of 9006. Then I look at High-Intensity Xenon Bulbs and they said it is 50% brighter than OEM and is brighter than Halgon Bulbs. Why does it only cost $15.00 for a pair of 9006?

I believe that xenons would require ballasts since they are HIDs
Halogens I believe are improved incandescent lights, so they'll be brighter last longer.
You sure you didn't flip those prices?

A quick wiki search brought this up

Thanks. I think I'll be getting Halogen Bulbs then. Yes, I'm pretty sure I didn't flip the prices. Here are the links.

Both bulb makes are APC.

Halogen Bulbs, OFF ROAD use with same wattage.

Xenon Bulbs, non HID related. Direct bulb replacement with same wattage.

Hrm funny i would think that the hid xenons would cost more since due to the more advanced materials. Or it could just be some weird seller markup or mis advertised price.

If you've got money there is a hid group buy going on i believe.

Nah, I don't think I want H.I.Ds at the moment. I got the money, I'm not looking for 120 bucks for just 2 bulbs that will last me 2 1/2 months. And plus, light is light. I just need something that would be a little brighter than stock and lasts longer or just as long.

Usally what they do is even thou you do not have HID's you can still use the xenon bulbs... it is a gas that they add into the fixture to make the light whiter and a little bit stronger...If you want some nice lighting and do not want to spend the money on HID then I would go with Silverstars. I belive they are about 40 for a set and they provide a nice clear and bright light. The extra vison bulbs by sylvina are also nice they are just as bright as the silver stars minus the hue (there a little more yellow).... i use to have them on my honda and they where very nice...hope this helps biggrin.gif

From my knowledge, halogens last longer and are probably brighter, and are stock replacements, something you would buy from a Napa. Xenon bulbs are after market bulbs (I've seen stock wattage) and come in a bright white while halogens come in a stockish color.
