the other day someone hit my door and i removed the skin to pop the dents out... needless to say im lazy and didnt get the skin back on before it rained. my window and sunroof were open and a few things got wet. i went to roll up my passenger window and it wouldnt work.

motor is still good - i rolled it up off the cig lighter circuit.
cant get either passenger switch to work
checked all the fuses i could think of - none blown.
driver side window works fine.

so my guess...

switch is bad - seriously doubt this
some fuse i cant find is bad
there is some relay i dont know about that is bad
or some wire burnt itself out

already took the switch apart and it looks fine. hoping its a fuse or relay im missing

any ideas would be welcome - my next step is to test some voltage read outs, but am in need of a pinout for the passenger window switch plug.. has 5 wires on it.

Sounds like your window lock switch is pressed.

Which door panel did you remove. And did your windows work at all before it rained but after you fixed your dent? Does your key off power window function still operate? If it doesn't then it's possibly your 30A POWER fuse. When you rolled your window up using the cig lighter circuit, how did you hook it up?

removed passenger door panel

windows worked fine before rain

didnt work after rain

key off power window still works

i ran power from the cig lighter straight into the motor power plug which is after the switch, its near the bottom of the door, i didnt try before the switch yet because i wasnt 100 percent on where the 5 wires on that plug went, and i didnt want to mess anything else up trying to find out by testing it.

well i used those power window bgb pages and got some testing done... turns out it was the switch. i ended up jumping terminals 1 to 2 and 3 to 5 and got the driver side able to control the passenger side. sooo if anyone has an extra passenger side window switch id be more than happy to buy it.

it doesnt matter if it looks bad, i can just switch out the internals. any working switch would do

thanks for all the help smile.gif
