Well I sold my celica to my buddy back in July cause he really needed a car and I could afford a new one. I bought myself a 2000 Infinit G20. So far the car is nice handles decently (not as good as the celi) but it has nice amenities aka loaded.

Anywho, I'm kinda craving more power and I'd like to stick with a 4 dr so my question to you all is, shall I swap out for a JDM SR20 DET Bluebird or if I can afford it(think I can by next summer), buy an EVO or mazdaspeed 6? I don't like Suburu's so STI is outta the picture.

so what are your alls thoughts about doing a G20 engine swap vs the evo/ mazdaspeed 6?

also, what are your thoughts about the G20? Do people generally like them or what? I know coomer was talking about one for a while and just curious about what people think of the car also...

on a side note, I'd love to buy that 95 GT4 from watanbe, but not sure if the wife would really like me getting another celica lol... but thats a whole different topic in itself (you married people know what I'm talking about)

I like them, though I never liked the way the clutch and steering felt in comparsion with my Celica.

And a G20 with a SR20DET or even a VE (if you wanted to go the N/A route) would be awesome, though it's still FWD. I'd rather spend a lot less money on building a fast G20 and some suspension work than buying an EVO or Mazdaspeed 6, but that's just me.

Be sure to check out some of the monster setups on SR20Forum.com and G20.net too. smile.gif

the mazdaspeed 6 is a nice car, awd 2.3 direct inject'd turbo charged 4 cylinder. i really havent heard much bad about them other than that the base model is pretty base and when you start adding options the price jumps up quickly.

i was gonna get a 99 G20 before i got my celi but the guy selling was shady so i got my celica... i definitely like the G20's they look very nice and with a SR20DET swap there are a lot of aftermarket support to upgrade for a relatively low price. the evo and mazdaspeed 6 are far more expensive vehicles.

the mazdaspeed 6 and evo are 2 very different cars!

I would go with the evo though, but I like mazdas better..

my good buddy has an sr20 det swapped se-r. it's got a good amount of power. i've never driven a swapped g20, but i've heard they're pretty awesome because they're such sleepers. anyone with half a brain is going to know what an evo or sti is capable of, but they'd never see an infiniti g20 coming!

if you plan on going for 300+ hp, move out of fwd. personally, i think you could build one hell of a det g20 for alot less cash than buying another car.

yeah I Could build a sweet G20 for way cheaper than a new car, but its the thing with a different engine, will it run right, will everything work, etc... cuase its not the motor that was meant for the car, and down time is big, but I wouldn't mind making my G20 a sleeper... I'd just have to go from auto to manual, which it appears the conversion parts are hard to find... anywho man decisions to make, EVO/6 , Gt4 or G20 Turbo... oh man this might take a while..lol
