QUOTE
This system is intended for installation on vehicles
equipped with automatic transmissions and
electronic fuel injection only! DO NOT INSTALL
THIS SYSTEM INTO A MANUAL TRANSMISSION
VEHICLE AS IT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS
INJURY OR DEATH.

Most likely it has an automatic start feature, and they dont want you to install it in a car with a manual cause you could leave it in gear and crash your car into a wall or somthing when you start it up and then sue them, thats why they say its so bad. Hope that answers your question

all u'll need to do is put a plate over the button under the clutch. always make sure the car is on neutral when parking it. hook up all the wires and u should be set.

hi ya'll,

i live in NE as well (Boston) and recently someone tried to steal the car (all of the key insert mechanism is torn out). so i got that portion repaired... but i'm afrad it might stolen again. so i want to have an alarm w/killswitch installed.

my locksmith is a family friend and he is the guy that toyota, ford, calls on if they hit a snag when it comes to replacing locks. he's a pro. he helped replace the mechanical portion of the auto. he doesn't install alarms.

his advice is to just get a alarm if you have full coverage insurance. in his opinion stuff like lojack doesn't help much if the police doesn't own those sophisticated equipment in the first place.

he also mentioned that killswitch comes with alarms, is that true?

mine's a stick. i'd want a auto-starter as well. i've already found a place to install all it:
$290 installed for just alarms+killswitch
$700 installed for alarm, killswitch and autostart.

it gets cold in the winters and i really want it to warm up before i drive it =). the question is... aren't modern cars sophisticated to detect that your stick is in 1st gear and not start? i thought there's all this circuitry and stuff? anyway, i always leave it in neutral unless i'm on steep hill.

any advice about this? are there different types of autostarters that DO detect 1st (just to be safe).

edit: i got the alarm+autostart installed. compustar, 2W900FMR (3000). do you guys know what it is? anyway, the installer told me that this new "top of the line" stuff just came out in the last few months. they didn't install manual autostarters before... but this new product has just the right securities to balance the amount of liabilities installers have from being sued.

so, in order to put the vehicle into auto-starter mode. i have to don't step on clutch, leave stick in neutral and just pull out ignition keys. get out of vehicle and just step away. the only little n00k+cranny that didn't work was auto-shutoff of the head lights. the trigger is via car-door WHEN the car is shutdown. but because the autostarter basically needs the car to be in running mode before going into "sleep mode", the headlight is still on. so that's my little quibble. other than that, it is sooooooooooooooooOOOOOO awesome to autostart your stick in freezing weather.
