The supra that tufy raced was also on the street. So if the Supra had that much HP, I doubt he had 100% traction. Plus the race was pretty close. Tufy have you ran the 1/4 yet, what was your time? Love the fact that your car waxes mean supras. Nice work on the build!!.

No, but I totally agree about the 1000hp Supra. Don't get me wrong, Tufy's car is absolutely amazing, but one of the following HAS to be true: That supra does not really have 1000hp, or that guy doesn't know how to drive to save his grandma, or he purposely drove like crap to get Tufy over confident. Once again, Tufy's car is awesome, but i'm sorry, 1000hp RWD supras don't get beaten by 600hp AWD celicas in a fair race.

OKAAAY.... 97lestyousay I would say about 3-4 seconds difference in the 1/4 is what you are seeing.
That Celica is a cool little car but it aint beating no 1000hp car! What is the Celicas 1/4 mile trap and time?
Not a 9-10 sec car I can tell you that....at least in that video. 1000 hp will be in the 9-10 sec range. Even without hooking he would catch you on the big end....MPH baby

i think it's entirely likely that a 600bhp awd car at ~3000 lbs. could beat a 1000bhp rwd car at 3500 lbs.

i'd think, with engines that powerful, that the quarter mile would boil down to traction. who can actually get their power to the ground. as for weights i'm assuming stock which could be wrong.

yeah in the end, but not always in a 1/4... you gotta remember in the strip as well, the strips have special asphault, as well as a sticky solution on the floors for better traction, also, those guys were on drag radials, not street tires like that guy. stop being such a hater man... 1000hp cars unless bult for pure drag strips are just highway queens because they cant catch traction till like 3rd gear, useless in something as short as a 1/4 mile, why do you think all these high end porches and lambos and ferraris with low ass 0-60 time dont have much more than 600hp... high hp cars are highway and dyno queens, thats that... a reasonably powered awd car is a mean street machine

I agree one of my old cars was a 99 GT stang with stock motor, 4.30 gears and Nitto DR MAYBE 260 RWHP and I use to rape STI's every Friday at the track AWD and all I know they had much more power but once I hit them with a hook and cook like this its over.
Like I said that Celica is way cool but that Supra is a BPU car at best!

500 lbs will hardly make a difference when they're pushing THAT much HP. Once the cars are rolling, its all HP from there, weight wont be the priority concern.
