i dont know if its the motor mount but i dont think it is.

it sounds like the crank or rods.

knocking is kinda quite but its there, the last time my 5s did that (before the turbo) it sounded similar to what is happening now.

the knock speed is dependent on the rpm even in neutral leading to it being something with the engine.

im kinda mad cus i just got the damn thing in not to long ago.

ill inspect tmw and figure it out.

what should i do?

get a long screwdriver and use it as an engine stethoscope. put it to your ear and place the other end on the block and mover it around to where each cylinder is and see if you can pin point where the sound is the loudest.

engine noises are generally not a good thing. id either tear it all down or just bring it to toyota and see what they have to say.

10bucks says its your axle.

make a video of it. its hard to tell a sound over the net.
you can also take it to any local mechanic that you trust for a diagnosis. hell, even the toyota dealership would do it.

Dont know for sure without hearing it. Is it all the time or only when driving? Hows the oil level? Ive heard carbon knock that sounds just like a rod. You could run the crap out of it, if it goes away it was problbly carbon. If it blows up, you verified the problem! Just a thought.....

HAHAHAHA! i like the way you think. no but really thats not a good idea to just run it till it does something. figure out the situation first.

Check your pulleys. Right after picking ours up from Tweak it developed a light but RPM dependent knock......couldn't figure out what it was until suddenly the power steering went dead. Turns out the pump pulley retaining nut had backed off and departed the scene, leaving the pulley to wobble around making a knocking noise. Hopefully for you it's something similar that's not a major issue.
