ok so i have oil on my sparks and a pretty good oil leak from my engine, i cant seem to locate it because there is too much fluid...



i also have a misfire in cylinders 1 and 4




blue smoke out the exaust on startup also



i was thinking headgasket, oooor piston rings?



what do u think?

Blue smoke on a cold start is valve seals. Its not as big a deal as rings would be. Start there and while your in there replace seals behind the timing cover, valve cover seals and distributor o-ring. wink.gif

sounds like bad plug tube seals and worn valve seals.

I had the same problem.... replaced the plug tube seals and the main valve cover seal.... still leaks into tube #1

maybe its just old oil since it is impossible to clean out

every once in a while i have blue smoke come from my car, but thats only in the morning like the first start of the day. every other cold start is fine. And I also have this ticking noise which i beleive to be a lifter noise am i correct?

I just replaced mine and it took about 8hrs of work, special tooling, I turn wrenches for a living so it may take a little longer, I spent $37 for the seals, $15 for a valve seal pliers, $55 for a on the car valve spring compressor.
