ok, i just bought an S-AFCII for my 94 ST, its a 5spd, i have a few questions for the initial setup part of installing this gadget. First of all, what kind of sensor does the 7afe have? they give me a choice of 4: Hot wire, Flap, Pressure or Karman. And also how many? one i am guessing, but then again this is why i seek the expert advice from you all. Thanks a lot in advance.

for initial setup all you need to do is setup the type of sensor,
on the celi is a Pressure sensor,
which on the selection page is option 3
then select the option page and set the sensor as 01 in and 01 out
car should run fine after that...

is it possible to tune the fuel yourself without having to take it to a shop and have them dyno tune it?

well im pretty sure it is, i think my dad and i are going to give it a shot initially but we then are going to take it to a dyno. If you have a previous dyno chart that has the appropriate A/F ratio and the stocheometric line at the bottom of the graph, you can tell at approx. which points the engine is either too lean or too rich, and use the AFC to correct that, now doing it just by looking at a sheet of paper and hpoing it works is not the best, and you wont get max power output, and also there is a good chance you run too lean and damage your engine, but i think it is possible to tune to a certain degree yourslef, not recommended. The best would be to have a dyno so you cna make a run after each change and see where it stands.

thats the only way to do it right.
unless you have a wideband O2 sensor installed wink.gif

aah ok. thanks. that's gonna set me back a few $$, but it'll be worth it in the name of power.

quick question, does the RPM reading on the S-AFC2 read lower than what your actual tach says? Mine's doing that and I don't know if that's normal....

i would just check where you ave taken the rpm reading from, ie where u have connect the rpm wire.
i believe there are 2 points at the ecu where u can do that.so it might be the case of connecting it to the other point.. and u can use the same wire to monitor the injector signal too.
if u want it to read exactly the same as your tach then i would extend the wire and connect it behind the tach itself...

it is not normal.
the SAFCII's RPM wire should be hooked up to the IGF signal from the ECU.
i would check your wiring.
